Here’s the thing Washington is a bad team and quietly the Eagles are a bad defense.

We could win every game until the Rams and still have massive questions about the team.

I won’t feel great about this team until we score a lot of points on a good defense.

If they lose to wounded Vikings and Commanders teams they aren’t serious about contending. These are teams that serious contenders shouldn’t be losing to, don’t you agree?

Pack lost to the Panthers today. I’m pretty sure they’re “serious contenders” nonetheless.

Most contenders lose at least one such game EVERY season.

So: “should” serious contenders lose such games? No, I guess? Do they? Of course.

The bigger issue is that 6-3 is much better than 5-4 if the Lions want to be in the playoff mix.

They should not lose. Correct. But that does not make them not serious. They may just not be good enough (either coaching or players then) and were over estimated.

Lions team has flaws. They can’t play poorly and expect to win. It happens. If they play poorly next week expect the same, but if they play well they are still tough to beat.

2012 Ravens (Won SB XLVII): Lost three straight in December to non-elite teams — including a 4–9 Steelers squad starting Charlie Batch at QB.

2007 Giants (Won SB XLII): Lost twice to a 7–9 Vikings and a 6–10 Redskins. They backed into the playoffs at 10–6

2001 Patriots (Won SB XXXVI): Lost to a 6–10 Dolphins and 5–11 Broncos.

I am sure there were times in life you or anyone was serious about succeeding but failed. Doesn’t mean the person did not care.

It’s almost like nobody notices the Eagles lost to the Giants, Packers to the Browns and Panthers… and the Chiefs and Ravens are both in 3rd place in their divisions and outside the playoffs…

Who are the serious contenders? At some point many more will accept that it is… what it is.

After a 2 year resurrection, some will state that Darnold is better than Goff? Is he really? Is Daniel Jones? NO THEY ARE NOT!!! They are both solid QB, just like Baker, just like Goff, but none are likely to win a SB in the next 3 years…. ONE MIGHT, but it’s not likely.

Just facts guys.. winning a SB is hard, requires luck with officials and injuries, great talent and great coaching.

I jusr looked it up. The Packers havent won 6 straight against the Lions since 06-09. The Vikings won 6 straight and were about to make it 7 until the 1st win of the Dan Campbell era.

Point is, its extremely hard to beat division rival a bunch in a row
