Surging Lions WR Amon-Ra has eyes on 100-yard day, improving yards after catch b4 end of Yr 1

Gotta give Duce Staley some credit here as well. He’s had 5 RB’s play well this year. Swift, Williams, Jefferson, Reynolds and Igwebuike. All 5 should be back next year for training camp to battle it out again.

And also credit to the o-line for opening up holes for all these guys.

Imagine we had some WR’s and a QB, the offense would be lethal.

Not only does it take a couple years for defensive tackles to develop they’re also playing a 3-4. So you can’t grade them like they’re 4-3 tackles. They’re not being asked to attack upfield like they would be in a 4-3. Their job is to occupy blocks and keep the linebackers clean. Except our linebackers aren’t very good. Don’t forget Barnes is learning his 3rd new position in as many years. Only his second playing off ball linebacker.

Onwuzurike sat out last year and McNeil didn’t exactly come from a powerhouse program. Give them an off-season in an nfl weight room and then we’ll see where they’re at. If onwuzurike is still struggling at this time next year then I’ll be concerned. He’s been making steady progress as the year has gone along.

Brad Holmes explaining to all who will listen how we will distinguish ourselves:
Think out of the box. Use GPS game speed rather than combine numbers.
Yes, go Lions.

That gif is funny.

definitely a unique “talent”…

he had 90 yards today.

I’d say solid B at this point.

  • Pick 1 — OT Penei Sewell. …

Sewell is a solid pick. He hasn’t been the difference maker we had hoped he would be but he’s been solid. Hopefully he improves into the player we expected.

  • Pick 2 — DT Levi Onwuzurike. …

Levi has been a disappointment. You expect more from a player drafted this high. He definitely has a lot to prove. The jury is still out.

  • Pick 3 — DT Alim McNeill. …

He’s been a decent player and has filled a roll.

  • Pick 4 — CB Ifeatu Melifonwu. …

Jury is still out on Melifonwu. At this spot in the draft it often takes years before you know.

  • Pick 5 — WR Amon-Ra St. …

Been a solid player and a steal this low in the draft.

  • Pick 6 — LB Derrick Barnes. …

Showed promise but hasn’t shown he can stick long term. Time will tell.

  • Pick 7 — RB Jermar Jefferson.

If a 7th rounder makes the roster and fills a role then you’ve done well. Jefferson actually looks like he may have a future in the NFL.

Ultimately the draft has a lot of potential but right now is too early to call a bunch of players.

Brown and Sewell are the only two who look like they have a real NFL future at this point.

Given Sewell’s grading out as the #2OA tackle in the NFL since week 6 , I think you are understating your assessment of him.

If he was a QB and rated the #2 OA QB in the NFL his first year, the entire world would be Tripping Balls on him 24/7. Mac Jones rookie football base card was selling for more than Drew Brees’ was a few weeks ago. If Sewell is a QB and he is #2 OA, it would be non stop coverage. People have to adjust their thinking on this because he’s a lineman. If he was the #2 OA pass rusher in the NFL behind TJ Watt…people would be freaking out. If he was Deion Sanders in Yr 1 people would be freaking out.

We should be freaking out happy at this stage.

The kid has 28 catches in the past 3 games. He’s legit.

He’s not a difference maker!? He’s rated as the number 2 tackle in the entire nfl as a rookie. He might be a pro-bowler @ 21 years old.
