Listening to some clips of Scott’s post trade presser on the radio, and I have a new appreciation of him. He showed contrition, logic, and didnt come across as a disingenuos smartest guy in the room insufferable ass blowing smoke up the collective fanbase’s ass whilst wafting and basking in the odor of his own farts. Finally, a Det sports GM who acts like a ■■■■■■■ human and doesnt say inane, stupid shit for once, and not a doosh.

One thing I can guarantee you is that GM Harris knows the Dodger organization inside and out, coming from the SF Giants. These 2 teams rivalry goes back decades and decades from the 1st year the Dodgers landed in LA and likely before. These teams Hate each other, fiercely, similar to NY-Boston. The fact that SF had been very sucessfull under Harris in SF, really, really cheesed the Dodgers no end. Each team loves to stick it to the other team whenever possible. The fact that SF Won their Division and Championships is a testament to Harris ability to spot talent and develop it, consistently.

I agree 100%. The only thing that matters to me is that I love the guys we got back. Maybe we could have done better, maybe not, but it’s all just colored bubbles to me.

I also think that, if the Dodgers didn’t also happen to have better OF prospects than Hope in their system, the consensus would be much higher on our return…including amongst our own fanbase.
Hope would have been ranked the #1 prospect in how many organizations? Hell he’s about to be the #1 prospect in ours. If the Dodgers didn’t also have De Paula and Sirota and Quintero, I feel like there would be less complaining.

I think we will treat Hope next year exactly like we did Clark and McGonigle this year. He will get an invite to camp, with a legit chance to make the team out of camp, or be brought up later in the year.

I’m personally more disappointed in the Valdez signing than I am by the trade deadline. I think that was a big whiff TBH.
I’m disappointed by what Valdez has done. I think the signing was solid especially in light of knowing you probably aren’t going to sign Skubal. Unfortunately, Valdez hasn’t worked out so far. Hindsight is always 20/20.

I wouldn’t have an opinion on him pre-Tigers as I don’t follow other teams. But having watched him this year nothing about him says elite pitcher to me. He has a nice curveball I suppose.
What he’s done through his career that he’s not doing this year is induce ground balls at a clip near the league’s best.
At some point we talked about this but the ABS system means he’s not getting as many calls at the bottom of the zone as years’ past, which means he’s not getting as many ground balls AND he’s having to live further up in the zone now…which obviously hasn’t been as good for him.

He does have 11 quality starts which is the most on the Tigers this year. The issue is he has had a couple games where he just didn’t have it and those few starts have destroyed his overall era.

Tigers cant afford him not to have a decent game though. Bp is still the same
True that’s one thing he has been very good at the last 5 seasons. Averaging about 30 starts a season. Eats a lot of innings. I don’t think he’s worth that contract but he still has value.
