Sounds like somebody needs to get their shit together.

It ain’t the Oline.

It ain’t Goff.

It ain’t Gibbs.

Jamo is contributing his ass off.

Teslaa is contributing.

LaPorta is contributing.

Who does that leave?

Sorry, Natty. Your guy needs to learn how to use the gas pedal! I’m still thinking he’s playing Ben’s Jedi Mind Games, setting the table for later…I hope, anyway.

Teams have been doing a pretty good job of keeping foxy off the field, for the most part. Coaches need to step up his usage, for sure.

you looking for a RG or a date?

I’m kind of surprised most ā€œexpertsā€ have our Oline ranked around the middle of the pack. Though likely due to injuries than rating the actual top 5 starters. Hopefully the big nasties can really start imposing their will. Would be great to get back to that ā€˜23 / ā€˜24 dominance level again.

Mahogany doesn’t seem to want to lose his starting job.

Right, competition and Hank are reasonable factors for growing

Tate has been a mauler from day 1. He had some rookie mistakes last year, but he learned from them and has become a better pass protector than projected going into the draft. With a well-timed extension the Lions shouldn’t have to worry about the RG spot for a long time.

Tate developing into a great pro is excellent news. Mahogany developing is a serious and important development too.

Sewell is an All Pro and Blake Miller looks like a foundational piece.

At center we have Mays and Scruggs. Love that. Options.

We are developing Miles Fraser and Seth McLaughlin. What other young OL guys am I missing who are also being developed?

Do we honestly know that Mays is going to be better than Scruggs? His sample size is pretty small.

For all the attention 2024 gets with his picks… The second round picks on DL in 21 and 22 have a bigger contrast to their early OL picks. I’ll never get on board with the complaints about Manu and Martin. I defended them then and I would defend them today. Levi and Pasch are the ones that helped establish his reputation for having an affinity for injured players. Them and Williams. In my own mind, it’s the misses in rounds one and two that I can’t let go of. Not in the sense that I want to bitch about Brad, just in my own wiring I struggle with having nothing to show for such a valuable resource. Like when a conversation comes up about Les trading all his first round picks, I’d probably be in the camp that wouldn’t be thrilled about doing it. And of all of the Mayhew complaints, it’s the lack of second round success that nags me most. That and his inability to draft a good wide receiver. You just think of round one and two as a way for a team to get incrementally better. When you don’t, it nags at you.

Oline looking solid. Not as good without Frank but across the board above average. Still think Penei should be at RT.

Miller played all 4 years there and Sewell didn’t play there until he came here.

Remember when people were talking about his concerning dad bod in the off-season. I ā€˜member.

The Lions are going to have three perennial pro bowlers on the offensive line for years to come. Brad has done a phenomenal job of rebuilding the offensive line very quickly.

What misses in the first round?

Mahogs looked pretty solid vs the Jets too. Very encouraging. With Mahogs, Vaki and Rakestraw all making contributions last week all of sudden that 24 draft class doesn’t look too bad. Sure hope that continues.
