The former Patriot TE has told people he’s signing with Miami, said to be for 2 years at $7 mil. Unknown if that is the base package or the max, but I’m starting to feel a little antsy. This team only has Michael Roberts and Jerome Cunningham under contract at TE, and some are saying that neither Willson nor Toilolo are coming back. Sooo, they need SOMEBODY there, I would say both a VET FA and a draft pick, maybe a high one if one falls to us.

Some are saying it’s the Lions biggest need; if it isn’t then it’s damn close to the top of the list. The link below talks about Jesse James, the young Steeler TE as a good option. This situation may be approaching the level of the need the Lions had at WR when Calvin retired, meaning maybe they better overpay for this guy, at least up to a point.

I doubt that happens if we don’t sign a free agent TE.

What is he, like 47 now. Thank God, he would have dragged the Lions average age down by two years.
Talk about long in the tooth, this guy is a bucked tooth saber-toothed tiger.

I’ve been on the Jesse James train since the season ended, he’s exactly the player we need at TE
