Pacheco or Small are the obvious candidates. Both are banged up.

I have no idea. But a 5th TE is necessary when 2 of them have zero experience. An undrafted rookie and a project does not round out a complete TE unit. A production veteran does.
good that way we can have him back here for depth in the TE group.

4 WR, 4 RB, 4TE, has a certain fungzwai. Of course, I’m projecting.
Did we lose Laporta and Wright?
Several teams are only keeping 2 TE’s and the Lions starting two are one of the strongest starting TE tandems in the league.
Toss in Meeks, along with Conklin and Gordon and we have a very solid and deep TE room.
Um, there are other interpretations. But I’m happy he’s on our practice squad along with Gordon.
Show me a team rolling with 2 TEs. There isn’t one…
And I’ve said it several times…TE is the least of my concerns.
Now address the other two positions. Better yet, find me a team that is as weak as ours at the bottom half. Just one. Colts might have a weaker RB room behind JT…but that’s it.
It does seem to me that Wright gets less respect than he deserves, even here.
No one said a word about TE1 or 2. Don’t even know why that’s being brought up.
Justin Rogers now reporting Conklin was signed to the 53-man roster.

I think that says a lot of what this staff thinks of him as a player. Also tells me Meeks is probably thought of as more of a WR than TE.
Both positions look a little bit better with this move

Meeks could be seen as someone who can be here for a few years on the cheap. Wright is a UFA next year.
