Tennessee QB - Hendon Hooker

I like this kids measurables. Probably needs to bulk up a bit, but he has good size at 6’4" 218lbs.

Strong arm, can make most throws, Athletic, and has 10 1/2in Hands.

Battle tested in the SEC, has a big game against Georgia tommorow.

He seems more than a game manager to me, smart kid makes good decisions.

I think this kid could be developed into a good pro QB, and has the ideal traits for what this offense needs.

Best of all, we can probably snag em with a 3rd round comp pick, and let him sit a year behind Goff or possibly Mariota if we can somehow move Goff.

Anyone else see anything in this kid?

Really want to make a Joe Milton joke, but will refrain.

The times I’ve watched him, he seems to lack some touch. But I haven’t watched him in several weeks. He may have gotten more relaxed and nuanced.

Bringing a Hooker in ought to spice up the locker room, that’s for damn sure.

you had me at “Hooker”…

I <3 Hookers… My wife, not so much, we’re a house divided.

Milton?

The ex Wolverine QB.

The QB I really want us to draft is only a true freshman so regretably it will be awhile before we could draft him, but in the interim I’m gonna be annoying with how much I bring him up: Timmy McClain of USF. The guy reminds me so much of Deshaun Watson, and it’s also hard not to think of Vick given he’s a lefty. He’s got superstar written all over him.

I agree, team members have had droopy heads since Cooter left town.

Why’s he at USF? Jeff Scott may have to keep on recruiting him to keep him there.

Not familiar with him. Looks like he was lightly recruited.

In general '24 does have the early looks of being the next great QB class.

I do like Young in '23 and still have hopes for Richardson and D.J. U who both have breathtaking talent.

I don’t know his full story before arriving at USF but I know he led his high school team to the 8a state championship in Florida in 2020 (and an undefeated season). And while he was under-recruited given his talent, he was recruited at least by Boston College, West Virginia and Virginia Tech (not sure if it was as a QB but I think so). In the end I think he was one of those Florida athletes at QB that often go under the radar like Lamar Jackson.

As to why he chose USF, it appears to be a combination of a full-court press by the new USF coack and offensive coordinator (Charlie Weis Jr.) and a desire to stay close to home.

I’ve watched him play 3 full games now and while USF on the whole struggles, it’s not McClain’s fault. In fact without him they’d be really dismal. He’s a much better passer than Lamar was coming out and probably better than Watson too. Strong, accurate arm. And he’s a magician in the pocket. He was an early enrollee too. There’s a lot to like about him. Too bad he’s not a couple of years older.

Droopy heads ?!

Ewwwwww…TMI
