Correction - the majority of the board that pays attention to the draft before tonight has been saying this.
Drew Boylhart
Blake Miller. OL/OT. Clemson Blake reminds me a lot of the #Bills RT Spencer Brown. Blakeās size and overall athleticism are about the same, as are their playing style and limitations. He shows good, solid lateral agility and looks to be a better pass blocker than a run blocker because of his size. When Blake runs blocks, he engages and then forgets to keep moving his feet. This is because he is so big that he thinks he can just overpower the player in front of him with his strength, and thatās just not true. Not moving his feet causes him to lunge and lose balance, putting his hands where they should not be to defeat that player. Blake is smart, picks up stunts, and does a decent job of going to the next level to make a block, but at times, he struggles with his change of direction because he is too aggressive. All of these issues are very correctable, and as soon as Blake is shown that he must correct them or he wonāt be successful, he will do so quickly. Blake is a better pass blocker right now, and that is more important for an OT coming out of college. It shows he has the athleticism to improve, and with his work ethic and leadership skills, he will improve quickly and become a starting OT for years to come for the team that selects him. He will have to adjust his pad level and not give up his chest before he snaps the ball. Giving up his chest allows players to gain leverage and easily bull rush him. Blake has played a lot at Right Tackle, but there is talent there to move to Left Tackle in the future if need be. In this draft, if there is a run on offense lineman, Blake could be selected in the 1st round. If there is a run on defensive linemen, he might slip back into the second round. With 5 teams having double-picks in the 1st, anything could happen. That being said, his talent to be a plug-and-play offensive tackle would not be smart to pass up if your team needs an offensive tackle, donāt you think?
Doesnāt that mean he also has 3 times the wear and tear and is going to a team that struggles with injury issues?
Dexter Lawrence, DāAndre Hopkins, Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Tee Higgins, AJ Terrell, on and on.
Letās not helmet scout
Whereās the poop emoticon?
I see where you are going with this obviously. How would you feel if we used our 2nd on a DE?
Trade up later for Malachi Lawrence?
Yes, when heās on the field. And the Vikings will have to deal with the fact that heāll be on the IR a lot.
We can only hope.
Draft Grades are stupid, but I guarantee you no one gives the Lions less than a āBā for the Miller pick tomorrow.
Whoa, did you know gamgam?!
They didnāt bring Freeling in a visit which according to local beat writers it was a huge tell about the Lions interest.
Well, I would only edit your post by saying a hole that Decker created by his play last season and then contract demands⦠were as much the problem as solely blaming the team.
I mean their not that sexy, but yeah ok
Have not understood that compā¦.
Decker has always been a OLT⦠and never great run blocker.
Miller has always been ORT⦠and a good run blocker.
Freeling at 19 is a lil interesting but yeah tells me Ekonwu is done with the panthers i think or they have Motons heir apparent
Only one S and one CB taken so far ā¦
How is his pass blocking?
Take 'er easy, amigo. Itāll all be fine.
