Burrow and Goff are the best pure pocket passers in the league and I could make a very strong case Goff is better than Burrow.
The media decided the narrative on Goff when he was with the rams. They’re not going to change it now. They don’t like Goff because he isn’t flashy. He just gets the job done at a high level. That doesn’t make for good content for them. At the end of the day that’s all they care about. Who brings viewers to their platforms.
This was said about another retired QB. Just because you don’t run doesn’t mean you are not mobile. Why is this not said about Goff.

It won’t be popular, but part of the reason I believe people judge him on the low side is , Goff had some decent chances in these big games, but doesn’t always play his best in them situations. Now I know here everyone has reason for this, but alot people are not buying it. Lost big game to San Fran/ next lost big game with 5 turn over to Washington in a really big game. And this year had a lot of stalled offense and didn’t make the playoffs. That isn’t going to make you a media daring like others. But I agree Goff feeds off this stuff. His day is coming, then they will all have known it all along. In My book Goff is fine and will get there. But our lack of success in these big games are holding him back in the eyes of the public

If you can’t run around for 10 seconds before heaving a hero ball into the endzone, you can’t be a top 10 quarterback – unless you have a SB ring.

I think that’s part of the reason but it also shows the hypocrisy of the media. Aaron Rodgers is considered a top 5-10 quarterback of all time depending on who you’re talking to. If you look at his career though he’s failed more often than not in big games. Even the year they won the Super Bowl it was in large part because of that defense. Yet they sing Rodgers praises every chance they get. Go back and watch the nfc championship Green Bay lost to San Francisco. Rodgers had a wide open adams over the middle late in the game. He never saw him and threw instead to a covered receiver. Had he thrown to adams the packers win and go to the Super Bowl.
This is legit. I don’t even care about mobility. Being an elite pocket QB carving up defenses is what matters. Goff is not a great QB. He’s not a great thrower of the football. There were times they showed some of his knuckle balls in slow motion and you can see someone like ARSB barely make the catch because of it and it’s literally painful to watch. Some drops are Goff’s fault.
I feel like he’s called a great accurate passer because they don’t know what else to say when they want to say something nice because he’s not an accurate passer at all.
He does need an elite OL because he holds on to the ball too long. When his first read is not available that’s when his biggest problems happen.
His timing is late. Receivers just stand there waiting then he throws the ball. That’s when he mainly gets his INT’s. And he throws behind players a lot.
Goff is not a QB that can win games. Give the ball to Tom Brady and he will win that game. Goff doesn’t have arm talent to do it. We’ve seen him try and it’s like he can’t even heave it 10 yards when under pressure. Goff can only play like if it’s the 1st quarter with 10min left. That’s his skill set.
Also, Goff chokes in big games. And he is prone to have crazy turnovers. The odd thing is that every INT must also come with a fumble.
What makes Goff a decent to good QB is his chemistry and relationship with players. Which is always huge. Players have strong connection with him and they love him.
He’s also like a robot. Program him to run the offense, and he’ll do it well. But without a good OL and good WR’s and a good run game, and good play call he can’t compute.
Goff’s best attribute is play action.
They can win with him, but it’s everyone else that needs to win it.
I judge players and games by watching. Stats are misleading.
