The hate is too much

Especially on social media. I’ve bashed them myself but I don’t think it’s as bad as others think. My biggest complaints are offensive play calling, and Jared Goff, but I still think DC can be better, and with Goff I do think he can step it up. I don’t think Goff should be replaced I still think he’s the guy.

They haven’t played their best the last few weeks, but it doesn’t change my mind. Hutch is still elite to me. Goff is still a dangerous pocket passer, ARSB is still clutch.

They lost their two coordinators who’s been there since the start. They lost Ragnow. They have a tough schedule, and are dealinjg with crazy injuries.

People think Brad Holmes can just magically make a trade, or sign some big time free agent, or draft some future hall of famer? Who?! This aint’t Madden.

BH and DC built a superbowl contender the last two seasons doing it their way. They need to keep doing what they’re doing!

Yes, I want them to be better, but I have not quit on any of them and I still think they can sneak into the playoffs and beat anyone!

I fully support our team!

I absolutely support this team 100% and hope that they do sneak in the playoffs and make a run and win the Super Bowl. I will say that for the first time that kind of scenario actually has a little bit of a downside, which is it reinforces all of the bad behavior and mistakes the front office and the coaching staff has made this year.

I don’t want any of that. I want those guys to learn their damn lessons, adjust their thinking and actions accordingly. I don’t want to sacrifice a Super Bowl for that but I sure as hell don’t want them strutting around saying “yeah see it worked after all didn’t it…GRIT BABY BOOYAH!”

Cuz no in that case it would have worked in spite of it.

I’ll hang my hat on it being one of the brutalist schedules I’ve ever seen. I was expecting close to what we got. That Vikings loss is still the hardest. 10-7 was my prediction with 11-6 my hope. Still attainable

I’ve been a Lions fan since 1968. It’s part of my DNA.

I didn’t dump them in the Millenn era. I’m not likely to dump them, now.

As far as Goff is concerned. Even a mobile QB needs a good offensive line, ie, KC, Baltimore, Buffalo, Cinnci…

We have 101 problems. Goff isn’t one of them.

except if they win the SB. or even get to the SB. Actually, if they get further than they got last year, they could be justified in thinking their way is working.

If they sneak in as a WC and get dumped the first round …. yeah, it didn’t work, and maybe would be counter-productive as you say.

Absolutely brother. I’ve got a couple years on you. If we haven’t given up on the Lions yet, we never will. But I reserve the right to be down on them!

I don’t think it’s traitorous to lament mistakes made by the front office or coaching staff. However, let’s hold the autopsy at seasons end & give the team the support needed to finish the season. As Yogi Berra once said “it’s not over til it’s over”.

Goff is the least of our worries. Shit he completed 15 straight passes vs the Packers with 5 backups on the field. Including a PS WR, a rookie and a 3rd string tight end

Goff is only a civilian. Being a top 2-3 rated QB on a top 5 scoring offense, with top 5 yards and TDs, low turnovers and a bad OL

He needs to be better? Unless Drake Maye, Matt Stafford, Mahomes or Allen are available somehow- I think we are good?

Honestly, with the huge extension, I don’t think we have much of a choice. I still think he IS good enough to win the super bowl, and would be a clutch part of a major run.

However, even the negative nancies have to admit that the only POSSIBLE ways to ‘dump’ Goff would be to take a mid-to-late first round rookie, and pray he works out within this current ‘window.’ Or trade multiple firsts to move WAY up for a higher end first rounder and hope HE works out quickly. I personally think that both of those options are pretty bad.

So, even the haters should get used to Goff. He isn’t going anywhere.

Same with ARSB, Hutch, Sewell, and Jamo. Huge extensions. They are Lions for a long time.

My advice? Get off of the toxic cesspool. This board (and one or two others) are the only 'social media’ I need. I am not a spring chicken, but I am under 40. So, I’m not an old man yelling at a cloud, I am a middle-aged guy yelling at a cloud. So there.

Dude you’re not even middle aged. You’re super young! I am pushing 50

There are some things about Goff that hit a nerve with me. Like the guy has to understand this OL isn’t as good right now so he’s got to step it up because I do agree that it’s like he plays way too safe. But I do think he can step it up and I do think he’s still the guy. He is who he is which to me is good enough. I appreciate your down to earth fair resonable approach about him. I wouldn’t be upset though if Brad did take a chance on another Hendon Hooker. Some early round developmental player who was great in college.

Internet was made for porn and hate.

NFL street cred is on a week to week basis.

Blow out the Cowboys, and all will be singing their praises.

Lose and it’s, well, we’ll told you so.

I expect them to put up a hell of a fight tonight, win or lose.
