A great memory. I took my little brother to Wrestlemania 3 at the Silverdome.

Interestingly, that wasn’t the first time Hogan had body slammed Andre the Giant.

On September 13, 1980, at The Hamburg Field House in Pennsylvania, a then-villain Hulk Hogan, managed by “Classy” Freddie Blassie, faced Andre the Giant. In the embedded video, at the 2:37 mark, Hogan picks up Andre with relative ease and body slams him.

However, Andre was a more “svelte” 475 lbs back then, not the 520+ he was 7 years later.

Hulk Hogan was a great wrestler that really helped promote the brand. Kind of a jerk when they tried to unionize.

Terry Gene Bollea was a racist piece of shit.

It does seem that way.

Worse than that, you would be hard pressed to find a person in that industry that likes him. He was a greedy narcissist. Not to kick a dead guy, but you gotta be honest. Plus, he was not a great “wrestler” he was an entertainer that got over. His in ring skills sucked, he’s one of the worst in ring performers to make it big.

I think I’d like to have a beer with Kevin Nash. Not really a wrestling fan but he seems like a stand up guy from afar.

Uh aren’t all pro wrestlers just entertainers?
Not like it’s real wrestling

Sure, but isn’t there an art form to maintaining the illusion or reality?

Sure there is
The hulkster was a great entertainer and gave the crowd what they wanted
They don’t get scored on technique
Stating someone wasn’t a good wrestler in the WWE is actually pretty funny

Now I will say he wasn’t as athletic as ones that followed him but he made up for it with his theatrics

Well I know zero about that “art form”. My remembrance of Hulk AA a child was that his movements always seemed stiff and robotic compared to wrestlers I preferred.

I loved The Rockers when I was eight or so bc those dudes were athletes. Don’t really know about their skill level though.

My buddies always liked the tag team stuff and would mimic it on the oversized trampoline.

In fairness to Hogan the dude had back surgery about 12 times. He could barely move the last decade he wrestled.

Yes, but in fairness some are really good at the physical part and he was pretty bad.

Should’ve have opted for a backiotomy like Samson did.

On a serious note those wrestlers are crazy. Destroy your body. Different city every night. It’s amazing any of them make 50 years old

Imagine the employment insurance interview.

What is your occupation?

I playfight with other men, in our underpants. Sometimes we tag team. People like to watch.
