The official "If we lose to LA, we're fine ... but what if we WIN?" thread

I would have felt better if they had any sort of struggle yesterday with the Cards. But they just steam rolled them. I will continue to tell myself that we’re probably going to lose, to keep my own expectations low.

Lions have to stay within 1 game of the Bears.

They currently are. The winner of Week18 will hold the tie breaker between the them.

So a Win keeps us within 1.

A loss means we need the bears to drop a game.

Doesn’t really change much. Other than being in control of our destiny.

I know people keep saying we are “fine” if we lose. But that also means we can’t drop another game after this one. Would have to win out at that point to have a chance. So I say we just go into LA and shock the world.

This week the Bears, Seahawks, and 49ers are all going to win easy games. We need to beat the Rams. If we run the ball and stop them from running the ball, I think we can beat them soundly.

We just have to outscore them.

The Bears will have trouble with Cleveland. Its classic Chicago

after a tough loss.

That awesome Browns defense seems to have thrown in the towel. The Titans just put up 31 on them. i would expect Shadeur to throw at least 2 picks. I say easy win for the Bears.

I was at that game yesterday. The Rams looked beatable but our offense needs to keep them off of the field.

That’s what the Cardinals failed to do. They failed to have any long, clock eating, sustained drives. The Cardinals defense also couldn’t stop the Rams running game at all.

The offense needs to step up big time and the defense needs to stop the run.

If we’re talking exciting football, man this will be a damn exciting football game. For me it’s electric as hell, like my body is feeling shocks! The NFL knows what they’re doing. Every time these teams play its big.

Then if things go a certain way, we play Ben Johnson for a playoff spot.

If I could have it my way, I want us to play the Packers in the wild card.

Some damn exciting football for sure.

Hopefully whoever challenged AQM last week to step up lit a fire. If he can keep getting pressure on a consistent basis that’s a game changer for the defense. Move McNeil back to 3 tech and let him do what he does best from the position he’s best in. The next 4 weeks are going to be determined by our offensive and defensive lines. If they play well we’re in. If they don’t then we’re sitting home trying to figure out next year.

I was hoping they could beat up the Rams a little bit. But it looked like the kind of defense you see in an NBA all-star game. And yes the cards only ran the ball 10 times other than the scrambles from Brisset. I do think the Lions will have a little something more for them.

I can see us beating every team left on the schedule, but I can also see us losing to any of them too. So whip those Cali kids first. Can our Oline handle Jared Verst and Kobie Turner? And can our Dline get to Stafford? In other words win in the trenches and we win.

We actually have a better offense statistically than the Rams do by a smidge. They have a better defense by a smidge. I think it’ll be close than people think as long as we can protect Goff and the run game gets going some.

I know LA is a deserving favorite, but the Lions are good, they play them well.

For all of the injuries on the back end, the front and the LB’s are good and deep. I hope Davenport starts getting it going. The Lions can absolutely win this!

What?

Houston
Jax
S.F.
Seattle
Indy
Tampa

Are all legit, or certainly were when the Rams beat them.

The Lions list ain’t as long.

My biggest concern is our secondary.

Will it be able to stop Adams and Puka?

is Davenport still on this team!

Its gonna be sort of like the Dallas game IMO, except we play on the West Coast, which East Coast teams don’t tend to do well, and they probably have a better defense than Dallas. I also think they might have trouble with our WRs too…
