lmfao, if this team had to start Lovett and Meeks at WR instead of ARSB and Jamo, the outrage would be bigger than starting Ya-Sin and Amik at CB. Those guys are at literally the same level of player as any of the defensive depth guys are. Maybe worse. They’re literally 3rd stringers.
I’m not criticizing his drafting ability in general. For the most part he’s been very good. But IMO he made a mistake by giving up so much draft capitol in order to draft someone that I see as a luxury pick when we had a lot of positions that we were thin at. WR wasn’t one of those.
At the time of the draft, our secondary depth was exceptional. WR needed more depth than our DB room. I’m with you on the Edge and OL depth.
Sure, that’s not the case now, but we had a great secondary room when the draft was here.
We had more young CBs than WRs. He was looking into the future, which is what great GMs do. The team is good enough to win it all and he’s making sure it stays that way for a long time. Maybe you’re Nostradamus, but most people can’t see into the future and know who’s going to get injured. Send your resume to Brad stat so he’ll do better in the 26 draft.
I disagree. The talent outside of ARSB and Jamo at WR was weak. Tim Patrick? Raymond? Those aren’t guys who you would be having a lot of success with if they’re WR1 and WR2
We had 2 WRs that are part of the future. Ra and Jamo. Lief and Tim are getting old. Hence why Tim was traded.
I would argue that we’re still not all that deep at WR if the injury bug hits.
And additionally, Brad has taken a DB in every draft he’s been here, 2025 was the first he didn’t take one in the one of the first 3 rounds. He also signed DJ Reed and Amik on top of that. And traded for Carlton, but couldn’t sign him long term. He clearly has focused on improving the talent in the DB room since he’s been here.
Lol
Tre Hawkins is super interesting to me. We saw him in joint practices when he was NYG’s camp darling. The traits are big time and the profile is differentiated from what we have. He also isn’t a UFA until after 2026. The injuries are an issue of course but this is a rare mid season high upside potential move.
