He makes an amazing play here and there and you go holy shit that was impressive. Then throws a couple dumb interceptions and makes you go holy shit again for much different reasons. Consistency has been the issue. Hopefully that continues.
From my experience Glue sniffing pairs best with a nice glass of merlot. The wine relaxes you and then the glue sniffing really adds some Adrenaline. Tread lightly though. Result may vary. Quality of the glue canāt be overlooked. Organic glue is a game changer. Lol
Is that in the same way that you would love to see Jesus H. Chirst, your favorite grandma and your childhood pet fail because they are playing for the Vikings? Or do you have a personal hitch against JJ? That would surprise me, because I am pretty sure he is cut from the big Natty mold.
Take the statement āā ā ā ā the packersāā¦now apply it to the Vikings with about 90% of the same energy.
Same principle, but just a touch less intense.
Also ā ā ā ā ā the Bears, Ben Johnson, Hoch, whatever rookie from MI, former lion, or whatever else type of foolery they dip their toe into.
Totally in agreement here. So much can happen during any given season.
We had a tough division last year. We came out on top. Things change. Some things I think are relevant.
Iām not 100% sure that Ben Johnson will be successful or not as a head coach. BUT he knows every one of our internal weaknesses having had to cover for our Defenseās shortcomings and scripting up plays for the offense week in and week out. Depending on the year, the Bearās play us remarkably well and the last two years there were games we were lucky to win. So it will be interesting to see how this all plays out this year w BJ at the helm
Injuries, injuries. If our Defense could have stayed even remotely healthy last year, we perhaps are punching a SB ticket. The upside is tons of players got significant playing time and we managed to construct wins last year. Depth is important and that comes from great coaching and situational football experience. If our new DC can pickup where we left off (and he appears to be able to do so!!) I think weāre going to be ok on that side of the ball.
Johnny Morton is a wild card for me on O. Sure itās the players. And i DO think that BJ āoverthankā things a bit too much last year. But something about seeing /listening to Morton ( admittedly from afar!) in some early interviews after the hire left me uninspired and not convinced. In Dan / BHās we must trust here.
Offensively Gibbs could have a huge year with Choice coaching him. I would say lookout for the return of LaPorta to make more of a splash in 2025/6. He was injured to start the year and perhaps was more felt than seen last year in terms of big numbers. Thereās only so many balls to go around and Jamo came on in a big way last year. But assuming Morton doesnāt shit the bed, the O should be in great shape. Thereās a part of me that hopes less BJ razzle dazzle / overthinking helps us just become more efficient.
Packers, Bears, Vikes all probably got better. Vikes QB situation is only big ?
We shall wait and see.
Man just peak at the end of the year, stay healthy. Rotate those guys in so we have continued depth that matters come the playoffs.
I know the Lions are trying to build a perennial contender. But i think this year is a bit of window to āclose the dealā, get to the SB and hopefully win one. They have a solid roster right now. The salary cap is going to start to bite them soon.
Well as a Notre Dame grad I followed JJ in high school and saw his state championship game on ESPN2. I knew then that kid had āit.ā He had 24 offers from colleges and I donāt think Notre Dame even considered him & that pissed me the Fock off. I know JJ visited South Bend a few times but Brian Kelly dumb ass never offered him because he was so caught up in Tyler Buchner. Thatās why I am so glad Kelly left for LSU. But I swear by JJ and once Michigan got him I knew Harbaugh finally had the QB that he needed to, not only beat OSU, not only win the B1G, but to get to the CFP and win a natty. Just as I didnāt want JJ to go to a B1G schoolā¦I also did not want him going to a NFC North rival. JJ is in good hands with KOC and unfortunately I believe the Vikings are in good hands with JJ.
Lions number 1 until someone takes the North from us.
Just need to get healthy. Was just rewatching the Dallas game. We were the best team in the NFL before all the injuries hit.
Packers number 2. Getting Love healthy will be a big boost for them. Liked their draft. I worry about Jacobās staying healthy with all the touches heās racked up in his career.
Vikings number 3. JJ couldnāt be in a better position with that team and KOCā¦.but heās still a rookie and had a season ending injury in preseason so have to see how that works out.
Bears number 4. Iāve never been sold on Ben Johnson as a head coach. Definitely not sold on Caleb running an NFL offense but heās definitely talented. Dennis Allen as DC was a good hire imo.
I feel really good about our prospects this season. Because itās the NFL and thereās the any given Sunday deal, I wonāt go any higher than 13-4. I think we gave a great team and a Super Bowl contender.
I feel that our Lions adjust the personnel on the roster better than any team n the division. Our staff can coach up and integrate the players that Brad adds to the roster, because they have gone through his process and have been identified as Lions worthy. Not everyone can be a Lion.
The only thing that gets in the way is injuries. Like the football gods putting a big chunk of our best defensive players on IR.
I have the Lions winning 12 this year IF we have a more normal year with injuries. If we have a freakshow like last year, then all bets are off. Health is key.
I have us winning 12 games. I see our division opponents winning 10ish each. That is a pretty slim margin where a weird bounce could alter reality. I see the Bears improving, the Packers in slight decline, and the Vikes with a bit more of a decline. IF we falter, then one of these teams could jump up. If we come out of the North with 4 wins or more, we will be fine.
