The Valenti show with Rico ideas for a Lions 30 for 30

https://youtu.be/ir_Vae940po

They brought up the idea of some kind of Lions documentary ie 30 for 30 and how it would be great in so many ways. From the backstories of the Bobby Layne curse, Wayne Fontes, The 91 playoff win, Matt Millen era, the bad calls resulting in rule changes, Silverdome needing multiple demolitions, and yet lions fans keep believing, etc etc

What other subjects would be great to show the world the history of the misery of Lions and it’s fans?

With how docs are being so well received, from the bad boys 30 for 30 and how much the media seems to be on the Lions bandwagon talking about the lions hype, what a perfect time for someone to do a doc on the lions and the misery of the fans for so long…

The Favre last second pass to beat the Lions in 1994’s Wild card playoff game. 55 seconds left actually. Heart breaker.

1984’s Murray playoff field goal miss that would have won the game for the Lions and would have sent the 49ers home. 1 point loss and there was 5 seconds to go.

In 2011 the botched Brees QB sneak on 4th down that should NOT have been granted as this isn’t the goal line and Brees reached over for a first but then pulled the ball back and was downed short of the 1st down. Also, the fumble that would have been a defensive score as well as the dropped Aaron Berry INT that would have sealed this playoff game for the Lions.

The awful Cowboys playoff game in 2014 with the call that was made, marched off in terms of yards then taken back.

From there one play and call after another that were awful against the Lions including Trey Flowers defensive calls in Green bay (AWFUL CALLS!!!), the shit call V. the Lions in Detroit V. the Pack that led to a Hail Mary catch that would have kept the Lions playoff hopes alive. That facemask call was awful.

The call V. Suh when he tackled Marion Barber by the hair and the terrible call V. Suh when he pushed Bears QB Jay Cutler down from behind. Of course the Calvin catch V. the Bears in 2012 I believe. The Seahawks awful call in 2015 with the batted ball out of the end zone that cost the Lions the game. The missed delay of game call V. the Ravens that contributed to the late FG that took a W off the board under Dan Campbell in 2021.

All plays and calls that should be a focus of a 30/30.

Have to include a “where are they now?” segment on the pre-game analingus couple. Now that’s some grit.

I actually liked the idea of breaking into segments:

Special Team debacles
Offensive play calls and bad calls
Defensive lapses
Coaching changes
Drafting woes
Trades
coaching decisions
OT debacles (coaching decisions bleed into this one)

The many ways that this organization has found ways to lose are amazing and awe inspiring.

You could add playoffs but that would be a short segment…
