Crap. This one is going down the wire.
Exciting game so far with lots of controversy.
Still no idea how Sorloth didn’t play Haaland on that counter.
Why would they take Haaland off? Is he hurt?
Maybe tired? He’s a big man playing in some pretty hot conditions. ![]()
Ugh. Oh well.
FIFA say “no peak on the graph” to suggest the ball hit a camera cable in the build up to England’s goal. Norway fuming, and their position backed up by replays. Under the rules, play should have been stopped.
Argentina had the “hand of god” goal….
and now gets the “divine dive” yellow card to give them a man advantage for remainder of the game.
If there is one thing that comes out of this WC hopefully it is the complete overhaul of VAR. it makes the video review in the NFL look great.
Kansas City was a crap choice to host such an important game.
There is barely 2 feet from the sidelines to the barriers on the sideline.
Plus the weather in July is miserable for this sport.
Alvarez…. Wow
Seems like a stiff penalty for a dive. Soccer players are diving all the time. Ruined a good game.
Well now he’s heading to Man U so screw him ![]()
Ugh, that’s actually a big loss. He was probably our best player overall the past 2 seasons. Especially since Onana tore his ACL too. Our midfield is getting pretty thin. But this his how the ‘Sky 6’ keep their hegemony. Anyone threatens it and they pick their talent clean.
Looks like Digne on the move too and heading to PSG. I guess being a substitute is more attractive to him at this point in his career.
What is even the point of release clauses? Like why would a club that intends on competing ever use them?
Because agents hold ALL of the power in soccer. If you don’t do what they want, they’ll never steer their clients your way. And since there are so many competing leagues, it is easy to pivot somewhere else, as opposed to our main leagues where the alternatives don’t come close to matching the spending power.
We’re being strategically picked apart.
Morgan Rogers the next likely target.
Oh he’s been a target all summer, but we have more control there. Release clause is 150 million+, still a lot of time on his contract, etc… and now we don’t HAVE to sell to come in line with the byzantine “profit and sustainability rules.”
Well retaining he and McGinn would help at least.
