Sometimes the simulation runs out of new ideas.

When it happens again in 2051 (if my math is right) they probably will have the ability to fix it on the field and the next Washington qb will not miss a play. All they need to do is change the team name back. Or was this the real reason they got rid of the redskin name?

If in 2051 it is Joe Theismann’s grandson, I’m moving to Mars.

By pure happenstance, my family was visiting Universal Studios in California in the Summer of 1989. We were in line for some ride and a staff member asked us if we wanted to be in the audience for the pilot of a new show they were taping. We blindly said yes and came to find out that the show was American Gladiators.

Joe Theismann was one of the original hosts and we got to meet him after the taping. The first thing out of my grandpa’s mouth when he went to shake his hand was, “How’s the leg, Joe?” I will never forget the look on his face.

Random fact:
I watched Joe Theisman (and Drew Pearson) play HS ball in South River NJ, my Dad’s alma mater. Two really good guys.

Theisman pronounced his name as ThEEsman at the time, he changed it to ThEYEsman (or corrected it?) at Notre Dame.

Our tradition was to watch the South River Rams play the New Brunswick Zebra’s (my mom’s alma mater) every Thanksgiving. Theisman dominated back then. I always made us rush home on Thanksgiving so I could watch our Lions.

And now you know my random connection to Joe Theisman, I’ll show myself out.

To the OP - thx, pretty amazing!

I am pretty sure I’ve seen interviews where Joe said the correct pronounciation is Thees-man, and that the media changed it to Th-eyes-man when they started the “Theisman for Heisman” expression at Notre Dame.

It wasn’t the media it was Roger Valdiserri, who was the sports information director at Notre Dame. But you are correct that it was part of a marketing campaign for the Heisman Trophy

Y’all older than dirt.

You can say that again. But of course, you have and you will, again and again… But of course, you knew this and will know it again with minor deviations just to entertain our puppetmasters…

Why do I swear I wrote that before?..

Could Goff be the next victim??? I hope not

The same yardline and the same final score on the same day is â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  nuts. I gotta go lick some toads and see if I can figure this one out.

Just remember, if the whole thing was fiction, you can’t unlick the toad.

Unlicking the toad is not an option. I’ve already turned out the lights. Darkness retreat coming in 3…2…1…
