The defense was bad, and of course I will give them as pass for being injured. Especially Branch who couldn’t tackle anyone.
But the offense pissed me off! They are not using David Montgomery enough and he’s been like this gadget player. They keep feeding Gibbs who is an amazing player but that doesn’t work for him. They needed to play DMO a hell of a lot more. He was doing well in the start of the second half but then they stopped here comes Gibbs and I’m actually rolling my eyes at him. Again, Gibbs is generatiional . Its me pissed at the Morton.
LaPorta they got away from then went back to him then kinda stopped again.
Feed ARSB man!
WTF is Goff hanging on to the ball so long and scramboing.I literally see with my own damn eyes players open mostly in the flats.
Jamo had 1 above average season a 1,000 yard force fed. I love Jamo but 1 out of 4 seasons is not enough for him to earn that kind of contract. He still has a lot to work on and has done squat for this team so far after all this praise and popcorn talk!
RUN it down their throats! Oh, they can’t because its Sonic and thats it apprently!
That defense was too damn vanillia. Why are they not stopping the run? Where the hell is Ty Williams?!
1000% disagree on Jamo. Them not using him as much is because 1) he is maybe the fastest player in the league(yes, even over Worthy) and he draws a LOT of attention and 2) Goff isn’t exactly known for his deep ball.
Jamo missed the 4th down cacth because he doesn’t know how to go get the ball. The guy catches with his body. The guy doesn’t know how to get open. Just recently he was dropping balls and not locating balls again. What speed? I haven’t seen his speed since last season. Teams aren’t playing deep because of him like you all think. He’s not getting the attention you all think he is.
Give it to Sam LaPorta and use Jamo for deep balls and decoys.
CMafia - the game sucked, no doubt. We were outplayed, plain and simple. The Chiefs ‘needed’ this win as much as a team can ‘need’ a win at this point in the season and played like it. We did not. We failed to execute, plain and simple.
My bigger concern long-term when it’s win or go home, is the lack of pass rush opposite Hutch. We will get our DBs back and healthy (hopefully), but the d-line needs more juice - it’s really that simple. That’s what I took from this game.
AQM is on track for nearly 13 sacks this year. Alim and Davenport are coming back. Wingo and Paschal. Barnes plays a role. And then Hutch. We have more than many teams.
I like AQM as a very good rotational piece and I know Alim is back which will be a huge help, but I’m sorry, Davenport is not a ‘reliable’ option. Wingo is down the depth chart for some reason and Paschal, we’ll see on his health. We need to find Davenport’s replacement - if we can’t pressure the Stafford’s, Jayden’s and Baker’s of the world, and yes, even the struggling Hurts, we’re screwed.
We are tied for 4th in sacks. We’re one short or being tied for second. We just sacked Mahomes thrice despite starting Archie Bunker at CB. That is very difficult to do. You expect too much IMO.
I will concede that being decimated in the secondary killed us - even if we had Garrett and Hutch on opposite ends, it wouldn’t have saved tonight.
My concern is rolling Hutch out there for 97% or whatever the hell he plays over the course of the season and let’s face it, Chiefs o-line isn’t elite (especially with their starting LT out). How many times did we see Mahomes roll out opposite of Hutch to make/extend the play. Yes, no amount of d-line would have saved us tonight, but I still think it needs to be addressed.
Even with our secondary fully healthy, I don’t think we have enough to stop the best teams in the playoffs. Also not trying to be an asshole - we’ll see how it plays out.
The offense made some key mistakes in play calling and execution which required the defense to play better than it was capable of.
My concern is that our GM would rather save draft picks for vanity projects or good WRs who don’t really have a role in our offense rather than get us help to win in the here and now.
