I enjoy pulling for the UDFA’s, I think Sterling has a chance to crack the 53 with his speed.

I think our depth at CB is not very impressive either.

Sutton
Moseley
Jacobs
Harris

Those are the top 4. They may only keep 5 with CJGJ and Branch likely to play a lot of nickel. The last two DB spots may come down to Savion Smith, Melifonwu, Lucas, or Thomas. I think they keep 10 DBs in total.

Locks at CB

Sutton
Moseley
Jacobs
Harris

Locks at Safety

Walker
Kerby
CJGJ
Branch

With the additions of both CJGJ and Branch who are roster locks for sure, I’m not so sure Harris is a lock. It would not shock me if Lucas or even Thomas wins out over him at outside CB and Branch / CJGJ can both play S and Slot at a higher level than him. Keeping either of them on the bench in favor of Harris at S or Nickle is folly IMO. Not sure, I know they like Harris but he isn’t one of “their” guys. The others he is competing with are. Lucas focusing on outside CB now will help him and I thought he had some potential at that spot. We’ll see.

Me, either. He’s experienced, but, that doesn’t mean he is good. He’s had 4 years to prove he’s good at something.
He was the best Jack of all trades that we had. Now, he’s a distant 3rd, maybe 4th.
I’d bet on Thomas’s speed, at this point. We’ve seen Will’s best, and frankly, it’s not that impressive.
I know, I’m a dick.

It aint perfect, but it’s way better than last year! Like you said Branch and GJ will be playing nickel. So, really we should be good with Sutton, Moseley and Jacobs as outside guys. Hopefully no one gets hurt though.

I agree we need two like every team you need to try get as much quality depth that you can.

I think Davis makes the team he can be gunner since he has really good speed an likes to hit. He also can return. Hope his first year he doesn’t need to play but gives us depth if needed. At slot an dime you have CJ an Branch an Harris as a ok depth. I know many fans don’t like him but the coaches do an he is a smart player.
We have flexible depth an will have a couple of CBs on PS. Could be Lucas maybe Jarren Williams maybe Smith I don’t think Davis would clear wavers with his size speed an willing to hit hard. He fits on ST Return an Gunner plus if needed CB during a game while he learns pros.

I think Lions would add a vet CB who may be released But right now I think we are ok .
