I loved Bob Sanders, and I still maintain he was the real reason the Colts won their Super Bowl with Manning. Their defense was in deep trouble, but once Sanders came back that defense was a different beast. That’s the reason they were able to get past the Brady led Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Unfortunately, his size combined with his play style is why he ended up having so many injury issues that kept him out.

He’s got average speed, not super quick and an average athlete… That was really the knock on him coming out, he gets beat deep and gets grabby

So… Abney was actually 5’9” and 7/8” at the combine.
Basically 5’10” tall.
Safeties that were shorter than him at the combine…
in addition to Quandre Diggs…
Bob Sanders.
Honey Badger.
Budda Baker.
Antoine Winfield Jr.
.
Polamalu was just slightly over 5’10” tall.. less than inch over Abney.
Weddle was 1.25 inches taller.
Kareem Jackson… less than an inch taller.

Diggs. Still pissed we gave him away for nothing because he called out Patricia. Went to multiple pro bowls with the Seachickens
