Yep, that is my question too. 6’7" 260 is a helluva chip on a DE and a brick wall for a box safety
He’s between 265 and 275 depending on who’s throwing the numbers out, but I haven’t seen much on him doing anything but receiving the ball on tape. I do know that he started at OK ST and they only threw the ball to him 8x in 2020 so I assume he was there to block.
Makes sense. I guess I was more curious about attitude / willingness.
Especially at TE2, I want a dude who’s all about bringing the pain train into the station… someone who’s just as revved up to line up in-line next to V and Sewell to construct a superhighway for the running back as he is to catch a pass.
Bucky Brooks just gave him some props on NFL Network as they hype up the East-West Shrine Game.
He should have a chance to impress in this game.
Thanks, you know this is a great TE class, just not the very top. There are guys who can block and catch all thru this draft, you’re just not going to see that top end 40 time. That’s OK, we need ball control and chain movers, keep the D off the field and score TD’s when you get in the red zone. Plus, playing a 12 personnel offense would really take advantage of our running game that we seriously need to get in gear.
Woods ran a 4.61, and measured 6’7" and 259. He also put up 24 on the bench, best for all TE’s.
" Not only did Woods show terrific timed speed, but it carried over to the on-field drills as well. He looked fluid in routes, displayed reliable hands, and made a really nice over-the-shoulder bucket catch that was one of the best on the day. In blocking drills, he looked sharp, showing what he was known for when he played at Oklahoma State."
I was told by a member here that all I did was look at stats and that was the extent of my evaluations, that I knew nothing beyond that. Well F U, this is a guy nobody was looking at Mr Expert.
Congrats to Jelani, he killed the pro day too. Too bad he’s gone too far up the ladder for us, would have loved to seen him in Honolulu Blue. Amazing that Kittle also killed the combine and it didn’t move the needle. I guess the “experts” have learned something.
