I don’t really have a fault with him deciding to run Williams against a banged up SF defensive line. What didn’t make sense was running to the weak side of the line and essentially being outnumbered. Bring someone in motion to that side or something. Was just an awkward design.

It took a miracle play for the Rams to not win in regulation.

Also… it’s Thursday night football….

and every NFL player will say that anything can happen in Thursday games because they don’t have time to physically recover on 3 days rest…. let alone have time to install a normal game plan.

That said… they are 3-2 right now.

A few missed kicks away from 5-0…..

and the 2 losses came against teams that have combined records of 8-1 right now.

Rams are still the best team in the NFC West…
and top 5 in the NFC.

I thought Shanahan wanted Jones but there was a bit of a disagreement within the organization and the organization kind of forced Lance upon him.

I think there is a good chance that if Jones continues to play well that the Niners will try to see what kind of market exists for Purdy.

Shanahan has full control. Shanahan and Lynch had several laughs about how well they laid a smokescreen regarding Mac Jones…knowing Lance was the target all along.
