I’m not a fan of either of these teams, but the refs gave this game a foul odor.
Shouldn’t that have been a 10 second run off and game over?
That was acting and he was back in a play later.
It was against us.
Different rules for the Lions and Ravens apparently
I know. No mention of a run off. Just if it happens again 5 yd penalty.
I really hate Mahomes, Kelce, and Andi Reid. I mean HATE. The entire Chiefs. Chris Jones is unreal. Why the hell do they win I swear they’re not that good.
I’m a big Ravens fan. Ever since the Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Ogden, McCalister, Jamal Lewis… all those guys. Amazing organization, coaches, everything.
Lost by a toe. That’s nasty.
Lions would have beat either of these teams tonight.
I have Henry in one of my fantasy teams. 46 yards and 1 TD = 10.60 points. If it was a WR it would have been 30 points. I swear RB’s aren’t worth drafting.
I mean it. I have great respect for a lot of the top teams and all 32 in general. But I do not fear any of them against the Lions. I don’t fear losses. Let’s say the Rams win. Good for them, so what? I know a team that lost Week 1 last year and they won the Super Bowl.
My faith in this team - for the first time in maybe my entire life - is un-wavered.
Terms and restrictrions apply. Please see your sales associate for details. Faith does not factor in injuries, stupidity, dumbass refs, league hosing or goalposts.
Good stuff. I think what makes the Lions really special is that their OL and run game makes them able to compete, and beat anyone. Ravens OL killed them tonight. What’s the point of Derrick Henry if there’s no blocking. DMont with his skill and OLine looks like a damn all-pro.
Yeah, that’s gotta happen.
Again.
Me when the Ravens are one game closer to not finishing better than 11-6…
They did mention it…said since it was an incompletion and the player was out of bounds that there was no 10 second run off.
They then followed that up with, if it happens again the Ravens would be penalized 5 yards but that there was no run off still.
OK so then the clock was stopped by an incomplete pass, so no run off.
The injury, or fake injury had no effect.
Where against the Lions it was stopped by the officials to review a play, overturning a TD. The officials stopping the clock caused the 10 second run off.
I guess I see the difference in the situation. But that rule should never end a game like it did against us. And really, I’m glad it didn’t against the Ravens.
This rule is definitely a confusing one and they seem to make up reasons to use it or not use it whenever they want to. See video below.
The rule as written in the rule book says nothing about the injuries being out of bounds. I’m not sure why out of bounds injuries would be different than in bounds injuries but none the less there’s no mention of it in the rule book.
From the rule book.
If the player injury is the only reason for stopping the clock (other than his or a teammate’s helmet coming off, Rule 3-3-9) with less than one minute in the half, the opponent has the option of a 10-second runoff.
I guess the argument would be because he’s out of bounds the clock wasn’t stopped by the injury?..… but it still gave them extra time.
This rule is in place for the very reason BAL did it. The rule is designed to stop players from faking injuries to stop the clock and or give their team an unfair advantage.
He clearly faked the injury because he was back in a play later. His goal was to give his team extra time.
Here’s some examples of the 10 sec run off rule. Note the TB loss was due to injury.
Lastly the NFL put out a memo last year warning teams to not do this and started issuing fines. My guess is they will get fined for this. But…. The Refs could have easily flagged them for this which would have resulted in a 10 sec run off if they had.
From the way I took it…you are correct, running clock vs non running and I agree that the Lions one was beyond ridiculous!
