Tracy Walker (knee) and Damon Harrison (veteran rest) not at Lions practice today. Graham Glasgow (back) and Da’Shawn Hand (personal) back at practice. Also, long-snapper Don Muhlbach has an arm, warming himself up pre-practice. Mike Daniels out there again. Feel like he’s getting closer.
Be nice to get Daniels back, and maybe Bryant in another week. I don’t have a good feeling about Walker playing on Sunday, but everybody else might.
If there is a week to be without Walker, this might be the one. The Raiders receiving threats aren’t exactly world beaters. It will be some good experience for Will.
I’m not seeing the “bad matchup” that you are seeing. I think the “going out west” thing is going to work against us. We could absolutely lose this game. But in my mind this is more of a “any given Sunday” kind of a matchup. They are an inferior team, and losing to them should be seen as a red flag. But, any given Sunday you can lose in the NFL.
Speaking of matchups, let’s just look at one game inside the game. We watched TEs absolutely murder Tahir Whitehead game after game. Guess who is one of the starting LBs for the Raiders?
The Raiders don’t turn the ball over alot, that’s literally the only thing this defense is good at.They run the ball well and they have an competent quarterback
And they are at home.
I can see them keeping us off the field
Tariq Whitehead is better in coverage than any current Lions linebacker
Walker missed another practice on Thursday and his status for the weekend is looking tenuous at best. It’s possible he is able to return to the practice field on Friday and make the trip to Oakland to be a game-time decision. But it’s equally as likely that he is ruled out on Friday or Saturday.
Like last Thursday, Harrison is getting a rest day to allow his groin to heal up. Expect him to practice once again tomorrow, to be listed as questionable on Friday’s injury designations and play on Sunday.
Limited today
Tra Carson (hamstring)
Graham Glasgow (back)
Darius Slay (hamstring)
Mike Daniels (foot)
Amani Oruwariye (knee)
For the Limited guys, I’d bet money that Glasgow plays, absent a setback, and less money on Slay but it’s possible he might be out there too. Oruwariye probably sits even if he is healthy enough, and Carson and Daniels are true unknowns. I’d love for Daniels to be out there, and the Lions only have Ty Johnson and McKissic as their RBs if Carson can’t go. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Lions sign an FA RB or bring Wes Hills up from the PS.
Bawdin was hurt awhile back but hasn’t showed up on the Injury Report. I don’t know if he actually can run with the ball or not, one would think with his size he could break tackles and get some tough yards, but he’s gotta have a hole to hit.
