Im not a fan of him. I want Rooker real bad. Perfect number 3 hitter that hits for average and power. But will cost a ton

Iām with itā¦.
Put a different way, Illitch just made 1/8 of next years payroll with playoff money
I agree. The Tigers need a couple of āpeskyā hitters in their lineup who are hard to get out. They have nobody like that now; too many hitters are actually easy to strike out and just donāt consistently get wood on the ball. That, and a RH hitting power hitter would be great.
I know they are scrappy and clutch and platoon advantage, and young so will improveā¦but you look real hard at it, that hitting lineup up there.
That aint gonna do it long term. Not even close when you look at Philly Mets Yankees Astros Padres Dodgers.
I suspect he will step up. He has spent millions on behind the scenes things fans donāt see or realize.
Now will he spend like his father did, I doubt it, but I beleive he will spend.
I think they need to add two bats, legitimate bats.
1st and 3rd.
Need a starting pitcher, preferably a #2 and then another rehab project.
Doesnāt have to be a FA
Skubal and Meadows are the only two I donāt trade from the current roster. Jobe is another I keep.
Everyone else is available.
Id prefer someone that can teach some hitters to keep their heads down or change the hitting approach with two strikes. I keep wondering if our hitters have family theyre looking for in the outfield seats after they swing out of their cleats striking out.
If youāve watched the history of Greene, Keith etc in the minors, their struggles and then figuring it out, see how they are doing at the big league level I think a couple of them will figure it out.
As some of the articles posted discussed, pitching is so different now vs even 10 yrs ago. It isnāt the same for todayās hitters, not even close.
I agree. Iād rather target guys that hit for average, play good defense, run fast, steal bases, can make contact when necessary by shortening swing rather than strike out, adjust to make a sacrifice fly, maybe even bunt. Then some lunkhead who strikes out all the time, like the Tigers have.
It is a LOT harder to string 4 5 6 hits in an inning now though. You gotta have power guys in there.
85 Cardinals aint gonna cut it.
McGonigle is a very contact oriented high average guy. He should be the long term answer at SS, but for the new RF/DH, gotta have a masher to put in there with Greene and Carp. And hope Tork hits 30 to offset his low average high K approach.
Iād probably have a K-Mart Blue Light Special on Torkelson before the season started.
Iām done with Tork, time for him to go.
Bats should a 1st baseman and a 3rd baseman.
Agree 100% on McGonigle, earliest for im, imo is 2026
And a rf.
Get upgrades on those 3. Tigers might be favors
I also think that this front office will prioritize their draft picks going forward.
They know what they want in a hitter and Iām not sure some of these current guys in Detroit fit their profile. Itās why Harris had this year as a see what we have year.
So hard for hitters to change their approach when they get to the majors and it rarely works.

I donāt really have an issue with their OF options as I think they have two strong starters then a few other good options for RF.
Green everyday starter
Meadows everyday starter
RF:
Carpenter/Vierling/Perez/
Can they upgrade sure, I just think the main needs are at third and first base
I like power hitters. But lets face it the really good ones cost a fortune. And we made Ramirez and Naylor look like chumps. They didnāt advance because of those 2.
2 arent starters and one is a dh

Chicks dig the long ball.
