Love to see Gage get a shot. Dude has worked hard, for many years. He was a college teammate of Tork, same draft.

While I would like to see Workman get a shot he struggled in a small sample size when called up by the Cubs and White Sox. If you are going to add someone to the 40man, I don’t think he is on it, not sure he is the one.

Truist Park has not been kind to Skubal over the last two years. His start against the Braves in 2024 was terrible, and we all remember the all star game there last year.

As we speak Alvarez is the best hitter in baseball. I would expect him to be a top 3 hitter for the next several years. Adding his bat to this lineup would change everything.
A cheaper option from the Astros that I would like is Josh Hader. It would be really nice to have a wipe out closer.

Hader would be the perfect high leverage lefty I’ve wanted, but I doubt we move Jansen off of closer duties…both after we just got him and with where he is in his career.
