The NL west has 4 of the top 10 best teams in mlb IMO. The NL East is loaded too. I think the NL is far stronger than the AL these days

Who are these guys?

In many ways, this game was out of character for the Tigers.

The Tigers came into Tuesday’s game with a 10-6 record, the best in the American League. But they also had an American League best plus-23 run differential, one of only three AL teams in positive run-differential territory and were the only team in the AL Central within that positive status.

“It just means we’re playing well,” manager A.J. Hinch said before the game. “Our style of play has been the same. Our consistency has been the same. We’ve responded to success and failure similarly.”

And now, they will need to respond to clunker.

The main reason to do this? The Tigers are in the midst of playing 23 games in 24 days. Until this point, they were able to give all their starting pitchers an extra day of rest, just because of how the off days have fallen.

“The reason that we’re inserting him in the rotation is just to give the entire rotation an extra day,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said on Tuesday.

Hinch stressed that no one is injured.

“It’s all about the rotation and giving multiple guys a benefit from it,” Hinch said. “We’ve been able to go this entire way so far without any of our starters being on that traditional five-day start, and we have a chance to continue it with arguably a guy who could have been on our team from the get-go.”

Rest was the main reason for the move, but Montero’s recent form certainly hasn’t hurt.

In his last outing, Montero went 5⅔ innings against Iowa on April 10 for Triple-A Toledo. He didn’t give up a hit, didn’t walk anybody and struck out six.

Riley one for his last 28 AB’s, leads the AL in strike outs, and went 0-4 last night with 3 K’s, that’s some Harvy shit right there…it really makes his weird, swing out of his shoes and pull his head, choppy golf swing look worse when he’s sucking like this. It’s wayyy early, but perhaps he needs to do what Tork did and change his mechanics :man_shrugging:

Leading the AL and we are still running out CF #5 and 6, we relegated our closer, Brisket has been getting torched and our starting C is down. Plus Javy has see n waaaay more PT than anyone would have guessed

It feels weird that 10-7 is somehow leading the AL.

I didn’t realize Riley had been THAT bad recently.

Then he ended the 1st inning like a fart in an elevator…I gotta believe he’s just slumping and will get his shit together. Oh look, Javy with another hit…

I really don’t ever like playing the Brewers.

Whelp, starting to feel like early last season these last two games…especially if the offense stays hot dogshit today.

16 straight scoreless innings…

We’re going to score today. The question is how much, and also can we hold them at 4?

Sweeney…now would be a great time to go yard

Riley with another terrible AB…Javy with another good AB, the end times are nigh

3 hits the last 11 days with 19 strikeouts. IMO that’s a ‘go get fixed down a level’. But sometimes you got to get it figured out against real pitching. he started off decent but I guess he got figured out pretty quick.
