I really get this feeling that Riley Greene has smelled too many of his own farts. That’s the vibe I get from him anyway.
Yeah, that’s the vibe I got from Tork last season, looks like it transferred to Riley and he absorbed it by osmosis

That 7.76 ERA was a typo earlier in the thread. He started the game with a 3.76 ERA and the Tigers bats just helped him improve that to 3.54.
Not to discount how absolutely horrid our bats have been for a couple weeks now.
Heyyyyyy now.
Im a lifer more than a purist though.
Need this lineup:
Meadows
Torres
BICHETTE (or best 3B/SS bat addition possible)
Dingler
Carp
Greene
Tork
McKinstry/Keith
Baez
Tbh, Dingler should be hitting in the 4/5 at this point and catch 3/4 games
Ah, I stand corrected, but mine/your point still stands
I should be a purist but I’m just not.
I would rather see the things that are better for the game.
Guys go through slumps. I don’t have any worry about green and they’re not going to move him down in the lineup. That said I would give him a day off tomorrow unless I haven’t checked the pitching match up it’s a righty he can Mash
Cubs were 91 wins last year and they’re tracking close to 100 this year so We weren’t going to sweep this series fellas Period especially running out The pitching chaos Situation that we have this year which is not Quite what it was last
Mckinstry and dangler will regress because they’re playing above their talent levels. That’s sad I think Parker is a legit 750 Ops guy and this lineup is really six deep and on some days, 7
I was talking about this last week what really puts pressure on pictures is having that fourth Elite bat in the top half of the lineup or down in the six hole. No matter where you go you’re likely going to have stress and that shows up cumulatively in a game and cumulatively for a team over a season. The tigers are still a year and a half away from having that homegrown so they can get a rental bat this year they’ll be guys out there and they should absolutely go out and get one the question will be will they have that fourth guy to start next year?
Probably not because they’re probably going to take a little bit of a downgrade from Torres to Keith assuming they let Torres walk because I don’t think they can pay him what he’s looking for nor block second base like that. A lot is going to be found out in the second half of this year with Briseno at AA. If he mashes double A like he smashed everywhere else he could be in Detroit in 26 as the DH full time.
The window is absolutely open given they still have the best record in baseball but the slider door is going to get jammed open starting in 27, again with the giant assumption that Skub is a Tiger for life
I get the “purist” thing, but then I ask myself if when baseball was invented with the technology we have today available, the strike zone would have started out automated imo.
I propose Bigfoot to umpire the games ![]()
The thing with Greene for me is all the strike outs and lack of contact, his bat isnt even close to the ball on his swings…and having a cleanup hitter that cant even get the bat on the ball is a pretty big problem. But I agree, AJ wont move him down yet, he’ll let him try to work it out…but if it still looks like this a week from now? He’s gotta get dropped down out of the top 5 at the least.
As for Dingler, maybe this is his level for the most part? The sample size is small, but if this is what he kind of is? He should be hitting 4/5 everyday imo until he proves otherwise ![]()
Bichette is hitting .397 with runners in scoring position which leads the league.
That sounds like something we need.
And just struck out with runners in scoring position… Damn you Bols
Yikes, last 3 weeks the offense ranks in the league 20’s in all applicable categories, and is 19th in runs scored…trending in the wrong direction. Good thing the record is so good…hopefully it’s enough cushion to pull out of the dive bomb…add the lack of any real, stable starting pitching short of Skubal…![]()
Jays comeback win over the Twins!

What a great day to re-up my FanDuel subscription. Pause… pause… pause… NOT!!!

Hey, I ain’t close to dead yet you @$((%$r
Although I’m a partial purist
Love the pitch clock, the 3batter minimum
Hate the runner on 2nd base
Love the ABS challenge rule
No desire to go fully automated.
