Scouting report

:arrow_forward: Williams, Guardians: This will be his second big-league start this season after coming back from an elbow injury he sustained in March. The 6-8, 250-pounder throws a 96-97 mph four-seamer with 7-3 extension. He also throws a cutter (92 mph) and a curveball. He needed 72 pitches to get through four innings against the White Sox on Wednesday.

:arrow_forward: Montero, Tigers: He posted his first big-league win at Minnesota on Wednesday, allowing 2 runs in 6.1 innings. He featured a lively four-seam fastball that sat at 95 but hit 98 and his ability to spot it in the zone helped set up his high-spin knuckle-curve (2,965 average rpm) and slider.

It didn’t take long for Keith to extend his hitting streak.

It looks like Josh Naylor is trying to eat his way onto the Blue Jays roster.

He is Canadian and has 20+ homers… sign me up. Vlad at 1st. Naylor DH. All you can eat buffets… look out. :joy:

That is 2 of the longest flyball outs you can hit in this park, Greene 0-2

He very easily could have 2 homers and a double right now.

The Baez - Baddoo combo. Yikes.

Baez did have a double earlier tonight so not terrible.

Lead off double for Rogers to start the 8th.

No matter the outcome impressive job by Montero tonight, two excellent starts in a row by the kid.

I thought about mentioning it, but I decided not to. A little bit because he seemed to be hotdogging it between first and second and I’m not yet convinced that a little hustle could’ve potentially gotten him to third.

I’ll take the win. Good game.

I thought it had more to do with the injury he’s coming back from but with his history wouldn’t be a shock if that was it.

I saw that double… I swear it hit the chalk. But they over ruled it. I must be going blind… or the umps are.

Strange call. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it before. They probably got the call right, but I still don’t know if there was enough to overturn it.

His biggest contribution may have been getting their manager to overthink things by taking their starter out of the game. Everyone except Riley seemed over-matched against him.

Are we still really starting this guy Maeda tomorrow? Ugh.

I think they got it right. What looked like chalk at first was probably sandy dirt.

Yes, and Cleveland is running Lively out there against Maeda.

That one will probably be ugly.
