Hinch’s lineup is about matchups and getting Carpenter the most AB’s against pitchers that he matches up well against. This was discussed a few nights ago in a pregame show.
It isn’t about the old style mlb 3-5 hitters being your power guys, it’s all about matchups in Hinch’s lineups and this includes the pen guys opposing teams bring in.
And, so far, it has been succesfull.
