get that GIF ready @bols …….
Tigers > Chatham
Westburg is pissed coming offf the IL.
McKinstry w 2 triples? Tork bomb? Depth starter goes pitching chaos ninja on the oposition?
Good times…
Yeah because he blew like a 10-3 9th inning lead or something crazy.
I thought it was that game but wasn’t sure so didn’t reference it. Well he has improved on his last performance vs the Tigers.
Lee pitched 1/3 on an inning. 9 pitches, one strikeout and got the win.
Tigers at 44 wins. Their over/under for team wins at beginning of the season by Draft Kings was 83.5!! I hope they lose their ass from all the over bets.
The Twins got their asses kicked.
The Division lead is up to 8.
Tigers are amazing… Remember the chubby guy who said Tork was gonna kill it before the season
Think it’s the first time I’ve ever been called “chubby guy” …
Hurter and Hinch on pitching chaos and the preperation…

The Tigers mapped out the plan with Hurter as part of their pregame preparation.
“They give me an idea about the hitter they’re looking at Sawyer coming in, so I have an idea,” Hurter said. “They give me a little heads-up of what batter I need to get to.”

In Tuesday’s game, Hurter matched up with Henderson in the first and third innings. In the third, Henderson delivered a two-out RBI single, which forced the Tigers to pivot from the original plan.
Had Hurter retired Henderson, then Gipson-Long would’ve entered for a clean fourth inning against right-handed hitter Ramón Laureano. But once Henderson reached base, the Tigers called on right-handed reliever Chase Lee for their matchup to face Laureano, finishing the third.
“We wanted a clean inning for him, so Chase had to come in and get the one out,” Hinch said. “But Hurter pitched efficiently, which allows me to extend him as long as we want.”
Hurter has worked as a starter throughout his career in the minor leagues, so he has experience handling heavier workloads across multiple innings, but the Tigers just don’t have room for him to start in the big leagues.
So Hurter takes on the do-it-all role.
“We can’t forget, this guy could start on a lot of teams,” Hinch said of Hurter, who has a 1.75 ERA with nine walks and 34 strikeouts across 36 innings, “and he may start down the road. It shows, because he pounds the strike zone.”
# Tigers share encouraging medical news on Alex Lange, Matt Vierling, Alex Cobb
=
Infielder/outfielder Matt Vierling (right shoulder inflammation): “Resumed throwing earlier this week and is completing all other baseball activities.”
In other words, he’s real close to going on another rehab stint.
“He’s definitely going to make a rehab stint,” Hinch said. “We’ll see how soon it can be. There is a chance he can do it a little faster than the throwing might indicate.”
Vierling came off his initial rehab stint and played in four games before having to shut it down again. He was seen by Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas and tests showed no structural damage.
====
Right-hand pitcher Alex Cobb (right hip inflammation): “Scheduled to continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.”
Pitching-wise, Cobb has been impressive. The problem has been that he’s been in constant discomfort on the mound and has limited mobility. He’s pitching through a lot of pain, trying to establish his threshold.
Hinch was asked if it was unreasonable to expect Cobb to be able to be stretched out to five or six innings.
“I don’t think it’s unreasonable,” he said. “I don’t think we have enough information to make a call yet. We’re going to use most likely the entire rehab stint (30 days) to make a determination on what he can and can’t do.”
=======
Right-handed pitcher Reese Olson (right ring finger inflammation): “Scheduled to complete a bullpen session Wednesday.”
Olson has begun to throw changeups again, but only in catch play. The changeup was the pitch that irritated his finger. Wednesday here in Baltimore, he will throw a full bullpen using all his pitches.
Hinch said they likely would need to see him do that a couple of times to make sure the inflammation doesn’t return before deciding on when to send him out for a rehab stint.

The medical report held no positive news for pitchers Jackson Jobe (right flexor strain) or Ty Madden (right shoulder strain). Both are still doing physical therapy rehab only. Neither has been cleared to resume throwing.
Looks like Eflin has put together two good starts, see how the bats do tonight.
RHP Casey Mize (6-1, 2.91), Tigers: He hasn’t finished the fifth inning in his last two starts, but he’s managed to limit damage and keep the Tigers in both games. He’s creating some mess for himself, uncharacteristically, with walks. He’s walked six in his last eight innings. He’s only pitched in Baltimore once and it was before his surgeries (Aug. 10, 2021). On that day he gave up three homers, two to Anthony Santander, who he will not have to deal with in this one.
RHP Zach Eflin (5-2, 4.47), Orioles: It’s been a broken season so far for him, missing a month with a lat strain. But he’s finding his form. Last two starts, he’s allowed three runs in 13 innings with 13 strikeouts and a walk. Eflin, 31, is from the same hometown (Oviedo, Florida) and high school (Hagerty) as Riley Greene. Greene has faced him twice and is 1 for 6.
For those not in Michigan this a good deal for half the season you get all games, minus the Appletv games. I believe it also includes the minor league games. Just research it first to make sure
His skinny days
I rarely go to starbucks but it’s fun giving them fake names…like why the hell do you need a name for a coffee
