Michigan seems like a good baseball school for being up north, but as you probably know, most of the best programs for college baseball are in the south. I think that’s partly a weather thing considering when college baseball starts it’s season.
Also kid, not going to lie, without a Twitter account to post film on and connect with coaches/recruiters (you said you don’t have any other social media), it’s like trying to go through recruiting with both hands tied behind your back. So much of that stuff is done now through social media. I’m not that far at all removed from being around some of my own high school football teammates as they went through their recruting process, so I saw how important social media (Twitter mostly) was for them.
If your goal really is to play college baseball, I’d ask your parents to do their own research on how social media heavy recruiting can be these days.
I’m glad he explained why Carp leads off- that makes sense. What i scratch my head about is Keith in the 3 spot. I’d rather get more at bats for Dingler.
My best friend actually went through recruiting for baseball and got a few D3 offers. I could ask him what he did / wished he had done. He would always post film on Twitter.
And recruting is so reactionary. Getting the first offer is the biggest thing. Schools want to see how you’re viewed by other schools, if that makes sense. For example, if you got a CMU offer and were talking to other schools of similar caliber, you could likely see several of those other schools offer you not long after CMU would.
We have connections to the tigers. My papa had an uncle that played for them. When he was a teen he used to go to games and sit in the dugout and even got to be the bat boy a few times. It opened a lot of doors for me to get into some great camps and get my name around in some circles. My mom is 100% behind me on baseball so im going to show her your post about Twitter when she gets home from work.
