SCOUTING REPORT
Corbin, Rangers: It’s been a solid season to date for Corbin, who has mostly been let down by run support in recent games. In his last five starts he’s given up nine total earned runs. He has given up a few more walks than preferable, and the strikeout numbers aren’t very high. He might not have lights out stuff, but he should make the Tigers earn it.
Skubal, Tigers: Detroit’s ace leads off the homestand and has been on his stuff of late. He missed out on a win on the West Coast but held the Angels to one earned run and four hits in six innings while striking out eight. In his last five starts, Skubal has given up three earned runs, one walk and has struck out 38 opposing hitters.
He’s so good… I really don’t know what the Tigers should do? His injury history is a concern. Does he deserve 350 million? I think so. But there is significant risk.
