Flaherty stinky it up again
Lots of meatballs from Flaherty so far
Flaherty needs a start off. Maybe his back is acting up again.
Unfortunately we were due for our pitching to regress a bit.
Is he hurt again
Good news is if Flaherty doesn’t repeat his 2.95 ERA that he had with us last year, he could end up opting back in to his deal next season.
Why is he flat out not throwing strikes anymore?
Well this may be a short game from the watching standpoint.

I trust Chris Fetter and Flaherty to get this figured out, but this is concerning.
We weren’t facing deGrom in any of those games to be fair.
True, but when your #2 pitcher is literally throwing for the home run derby, it’s a bigger issue than one game, with a hopefully valiant offensive comeback…Flaherty looks literally unpitchable giving up this many meatballs
I think our #2 pitcher has Mize for a while now, granted he is also on the DL, that makes Olson the defacto #2.
Any time he throws his fastball or his sinker, he’s getting shelled.
Could be tipping pitches. Could be that Nido has no idea how to call pitches for Flaherty, I don’t know.
But with Mize on the IL now, we need Flaherty to get this figured out in the next five days.

Ugh. Was just getting to the point where i could tune in to the game. Now I feel like i don’t want to.
