Tigers vs White Sox; Aug 14-16

They are talking about McGonigle on the MLB channel right now. Jake Peavy and company are comparing him to Tony Gwynn.

I do think we need at least some veteran presence in the lineup moving forward.

Arraez is a fa.

Seems to me the Tigers can find any excuse not to bring him up:

  1. 2 errors in 46 games at 2b in Toledo
  2. Hitting .311 with a .915 OPS, That’s not just against off speed stuff.

Someone in Tigers organization just doesn’t like this guy.

He’s coming to the Tigers.

.

I believe the point that the analytics guys are making is that he may hit ~ 92-94mph fastballs just fine in AAA, but has been struggling when he does face ~ 95+ mph fastballs in AAA.

Therefore, the concern is that he will struggle in MLB…

where most pitchers throw 95+ mph.

Listening to the Skubal interview was really interesting when they started asking him about Detroit.

Basically , rooting for those guys , that’s really all i’m gonna say about that. Next question that touched on the tigers brief answer , and that’s really all i’m going to say about that.

Sounds like he got quite a bit of heat for his.I wouldn’t mind going back to detroit comments earlier.

I caught that too. No question that he shut those questions down for the reasons you brought up.

I was reading the article on ESPN about lessons learned from the last MLB lock out and one of the supposed lessons learned was……leave the Minor League players alone.

That kind of peaked my interest about our young guys that were called up and the ones that are right on the edge of being called up.

If there ends up being a long shutdown of MLB, but the MiLB continues as scheduled, what options could the Tigers make in regards to some of the players. Are there any options to push players like Clark, Valencia, and even McGonigle back to the minors so that they can continue to play and develop.

Is this even an option?

Would it be considered a bad look?

Would the players see it as disrespectful?

Could this be a reason why the may be holding Anderson back?

Jobe needs to become a “win day” pitcher pretty quickly, and I hope tonight is a start of that.

Now, it doesn’t help when you hit two batters in three pitches.

Jobe is one of the few guys, that his pitches look electric to me on the TV

Like once he figures it out, how do you hit this guy, unless he hits you lol
