To be positive, the future looks bright, and of the very few teams that managed a +70 run differential with a losing record, essentially all of them had winning records the next year and most made the playoffs.
I would expect Valdez to have a bounce back year and while maybe not be the guy he used to be certainly not be the guy he was this year and add him to the three young arms and then see what we have left over with Olson or bringing in a vet and the starting staff should be just fine.
I talked early in the year about not having enough danger bats and it’s still that way so they have got to bring in either from the minors or in free agency two more bats to go with Clark McGonigle Greene and Dingler. Some people might think Clark is a stretch but if you look at his OPS I don’t think it is especially given a full year. I don’t think any of the other bats are anything better than supporting guys or platoon players.
Valencia, if he can repeat this kind of season as a DH and once a week catcher could be the wild card we weren’t looking for. Hope should probably be the other internal option and they can as an organization figure out how to fit Hope Carpenter Torkelson Valencia and Briceño together across RF 1B DH and 125 backup C PAs
I almost prefer to leave Kevin 3rd and play Baez at short, and have Keith ad a sub or part of a trade. Rainer will take SS hopefully in 2028 anyways.

You can have 1 or 2 guys like Lee if the rest can pick it. Any more and it starts being an issue, IMO.
