Someone shared it in another thread… Not sure where. Anyways yes please stay Tim. I liked your blocking and had some clutch catches too. Shouldn’t be expensive.

100%. Patrick is the definition of a “glue guy”. Does all the little things most people don’t see. He doesn’t complain, he just does his job and is very reliable when the ball comes his way. 2 years, 10mil is a reasonable contract for both sides, IMO. Wouldn’t go much higher than 2 years 12mil though.

Probably wants too much. Our holmes has his eyes on someone else

I’d actually prefer a 1 year deal… I bet Holmes offered him 1 year and he wants 2. Lol Holmes loves 1 year deals.

Patrick was a dawg for us I would like him back. I wanted Zeitler back too.

Best case we resign Patrick and Lopez doesn’t count for comp pick so we still get a 5/6 for Zeitler

He is a big rangy guy that we lack, size wise. Blocked like a mofo and was a solid ball catcher.

As a 5th target in the passing offense, what more can you want?

But is it real. I didn’t see the post on Patrick’s instagram page, but then again, I don’t use instagram.

This has all of the feeling of the “Go out and see what you can get and we will talk about it.” I get the feel that was the Levi O approach and I think it applies here as well.

I do not believe the market is going to be so robust for Patrick. He might be offered more somewhere else, but I am not sure it will be a better deal once other factors come into play.

I like him. I hope he comes back. But he doesn’t have a role that I would overpay for.

I think that’s the approach for not only players, but coaches.

I’ll pay you what you’re worth, but who says what you’re worth?
The market.
Where do you fit in the market?
What will the market afford for that position?
OK, here’s our offer.

Sometimes its just the team and player not seeing eye-to-eye. In that case, the player shops himself to the point he either proves he’s worth more (CD3) or that the Lions are being fair (Levi).

Not to ramble (yeah, right), but I can’t help but think about Cliff Avril. You have to be able to negotiate with your players without it being contentious. There shouldn’t be bad blood. One of the ways of ensuring there’s no bad blood is to deal consistently with everyone (see above). Let “the process” be the rule. Let it be transparent and fair. In the end, there’s no bad guy or bad blood.

Fully guaranteed is 50 mil. The way it’s written (as I recall), I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s gone from Cleveland after the 2026 season. Unless his agent is rubbish, he probably knows it, too.

I could be wrong, but a closer look at the numbers do suggest that Detroit won’t have to be on the hook for the same amount with Hutch. Part of what I said above means that the contract we write for Hutch isn’t going to have phony numbers that create the illusion of a market-setting payday. He’ll receive very real numbers as a cornerstone to our defense.

Just saw in Twitter that Tim resigned. Can anyone else confirm?
