Right. I remember Reisman stating last year that Hank rather than Ben was the one scheming up the run game.
We need to get better on third downs. Sustaining drives allows a run game to gather momentum. Getting into short down and distances allows for greater creativity.
Better run game and third downs efficiency and this offense is right where it needs to be IMO.
Dan always says “we’re this close.” The difference between a good play call and a bad play call is often just an assignment missed or made.
This thread is insane. Hank Fraley is an incredible o-line coach. And he is directly responsible for our run game success the last couple of years. He took a very talented line and built amazing run game schemes using their talents. There are tons of videos of people breaking down our schemes and how genius they were. Seriously we put so much teach tape out there. We have been a force running the ball. This offseason we let Zeitler go, and we knew Ragnow was retiring.. yet we decided to roll with a young mahoghany who only got a few games in last year.. and keeping glascow who’s game was deteriorating.. and drafting additional replacements - Ratledge / Frasier. You can’t put that on Fraley. These guys are going to need time to develop.. and we should have added a vet as insurance, but we spent a lot of money elsewhere.
So the guy responsible for the run game gets a total pass but the OC deserves all the vitriol that he has received on here? Or are you saying that the Morton hate is insane as well?
Fraley deserves some respect. He’s been our line coach for 5 years and has a very good record of accomplishment.. many people around the league believe he’s one of the best in the NFL. Morton is new in his role and his history as a playcaller is a bit suspect.. so yeah he doesn’t have nearly the established history of success.. so its fairer to judge him a bit more harshly.
I wonder how much input Hank had on the selection of Manu. Was he pounding the table saying we have to have this guy? Or was it like this guy is really raw but I will see what we can do with him?
