I agree that young is tough as nails and Iād take him in a second over Levis personally, but when it comes down to personality and style I think MCDC will prefer Levis. As other posters have said Bryce is cool while Levis is fiery, Bryce will be smart while Levis will try and truck a guy. I wouldnāt use that as a basis for picking Levis over Bryce, but I wouldnāt be shocked if we did.
And Levis is that kind of this goofball meathead (though heās actually from an academic family) that the locker room is going to love. I mean, what Offensive Guard isnāt going to love a guy that puts mayo in his coffee. Smart kid as well from what I understand, iām just saying that heās clearly a āone of the guys kind of QBā which Dan will love.
Iāve seen the upside comp for him I see is often Josh Allen but I actually see more Brett Favre. Miles to go to reach that of course. Hopefully Levis doesnāt embezzle from poor people.
I still think heās QB4 but I know most everyone disagrees. Renner has Levis 3OA, one spot above Stroud.
All that said, give me D.J. U if we canāt get Bryce.
These discussions of character and personality are interesting. Personally I quite like the current Lions players in terms of the their character and personality. Iād quite like to have a beer with Dan Campbell. Iād quite like to have a beer with Jared Goff. Hutch seems a bit goofy too. Will Levis seems fun too with his mayo in his coffee and eating banana skins schtick. They all seem quite fun.
Iām not sure Iād like to have a beer with Amon-Ra St Brown because he seems a bit intense. But Iād trust him to catch a ball in the end-zone on a last play. In a similar vein - Iām not sure Iād like to have a beer with Bryce Young as he seems a bit intense too. But Iād trust him to throw the ball to Amon-Ra in the end-zone on a last play.
The Levis/Young debate reminds me a little of the Herbert/Tua debate. At least in terms of how they relate to one another i.e. short Alabama QB with intangibles vs more prototypical QB size etc.
I donāt have a good feel for Levis yet. I havenāt watched enough. Herbert in the Rose Bowl opened my eyes on his game. Herbert was high in scouting circles from the get go. I donāt recall the same hype with Levis.
Stafford trucks defenders? Young is one of the toughest, most competitive QBs, in college football. Just because heās smaller that doesnāt mean heās not tough as nails. Watch him stand tall in the pocket and take a shot to make a play. He has that stuff that Campbell and co. love in a player. I say this as somebody who is somewhat skeptical of his size.
If they take a guy because he runs over defenders occasionally then they truly are clueless.
I like Levis but I donāt see an argument for taking him over Young outside of him being bigger.
Youāre missing the point. And by choice it seems⦠Saying Levis has grit doesnāt have to take anything away from by our baby boy Bryce.

yāall know Iām a defense whore but if we were going QB and had a choice between Levis and Young Iād choose Young.
One, because pairing him with Jamo again would be great and follow a fun pattern of it happening - Burrow Young, Tua and Waddle. But because I have this feeling Levis isnāt as much of a tactician. His arm talent is insane but when watching his film you can see him not always seeing the field well and making the wrong decisions.
Plus mayo in coffee? hard no
I really donāt know why I continue to follow this last Detroit team?
For me itās about the time investment and scheduling. I know the Lions normal schedule, Sunday @ 1pm and Turkey Day. I donāt want to spend time tracking; 82 NBA/NHL games or 162 MLB games, especially with a mediocre product. Itās way easier to be invested in a short duration and highly intense activity (queue Natty with the gif). Until they added the 17th game, I used to tell my wife I only want to watch two days of football⦠16 games x 3 hours each = 48 hours (two days).
I actually see more Brett Favre.
Thatās a great comp

Yeah this is why most evaluators have Young ahead of Levis. Bryce is pro ready from a decision-making, problem-solving standpoint. You can start him day one and heād be one of the ten smartest starting QBs.
Levis is more typical of QB prospects in that heās toolsy but still has a lot of improvement needed. Favre, Josh Allen, Fields, Tannehill, Lance, Lamar, Rodgers, Bortles, Gabbert, Daniel Jones, Flacco, Zach Wilson, Cutler, Locker, even Stafford⦠none of those guys were ready to step on the field day one, you knew youād have to take your lumps while they either adjusted to the NFL game, or they didnāt.
I think DJ U has a better arm than Levis. To be honest I think Levis rips some intermediate stuff when he doesnāt have to. Take ten percent off of it, nail the ball placement and maximize YAC. A young Stafford had the same issue IMO.
Do you think DJ will come out this year?
short duration and highly intense activity

Could be on of the 2 QBs, the DE, or the DTā¦you guys know what Iād wanna see.
Well maybe @Martymcfly2017 can ask his cousin that question.
But I think he can go top ten if he finishes the year playing like this and has Clemson in the playoffs. The number ten pick got 4/20m this year and I doubt heād go above Williams and Ewers next year. So if itās strictly a business decision Iād think he comes out if he gets his draft stock up to where I believe he can.
I dont have any contact with him besides the one time. But if i find out ill let you all know.
Maybe your cousin can ask ![]()
I love ritual and thereās something comforting about talking Lions draft in early October. Itās a rhythm of nature like the swallows coming back to Capistrano. If Iām not crushed by early October, is it really my life
Poetical
Like i said meant them once. Her name is Ava Pritchard, she played volleyball for Clemson. I feel like you think im lying, and honestly im not. Hell she lives in Texas
I never thought you were lying. Not once.
