TNF: Bengals vs Ravens

Yeah that’s what happens when you play with boys .

Cincy should be ashamed of themselves for saddling Burrow with that OL. The man has to make miracles happen every play it feels like.

asking your qb to win every game will never be a good strategy, especially long term.

Yea they have won close games…they also lost to KC by a toe. Personally I’d rather face KC in the super bowl instead of the Ravens. Lamar and Henry are a problem. And running qb’s vs the Lions gives me nightmares.

It’s miraculous he can almost do it on the road against a team like the Ravens.

Burrow took so many shots last night… With his injury history… It’s just a matter of time behind that oline. His career may very well be short. You can’t keep taking a beating every game and last long. Ravens had 13 qb hits yesterday…and a couple more didn’t count cause of penalties so no stat recorded…but the hit still does

We used to have a guy who was in that sort of position. He was good enough to damn near beat average-to-shitty teams by himself, but the guy wasn’t good enough to beat a good team by himself.

That said, our current situation…Baltimore shows up like they did last night against us, they’ll lose by 20.

Goff carries out fakes better than either one of those guys. Our OL is superior to those teams, then factor in downfield blocking, etc. They’re not ready for what we’re bringing. I picked Baltimore to make it to teh SB preseason, and that’s still very possible. It’s mid-season and they may peak later…but with that said, they’d better shape up if they don’t want to get blown out in a lop-sided SB. Hahahahahaahahaaaa!

It is similar to Stafford’s old situation with us, but the difference is Burrow took a team to the Super Bowl anyway, whereas Stafford never won a playoff game. I love Stafford, but there’s some championship DNA in Burrow. I hope injuries don’t rob us of his career like @stephenboyd57 suggests.

Yea and they aren’t helping the oline either with play calling… Brown had 13 carries…Burrow threw almost 60 passes. Great way to get your qb killed when the dline knows ur passing. And they had a 14 point lead…run the ball some.

I mean I get that the gameplan was to pass more than run - the Baltimore D is 31st against the pass and 1st against the run. Teams have been doing that for awhile now to much success. The problem is the Cincy OL sucks so bad, they can’t hold up against a team that before yesterday was struggling to get pressure.

Also in their defense, when they got the ball back up 14 they called three straight runs, the third of which was stripped and recovered by Baltimore.

Sounds exactly like the Lions defense last year.

Very similar imo. They don’t play as much man coverage as we did but otherwise yeah.

Balitmore runs the ball at an elite level and stops the run very well. They are the Lions with worse pass Defense essentially. Would be a very interesting matchup. They killed us last year.

VERY different style of QBs though. Diametrically-opposed, basically. And their OL isn’t anywhere near as good as ours. Those would be the main differences. But Lamar would definitely be our biggest issue, as he is for most teams.

Are you trying to say Goff can’t run for 1000 yards? How dare you insult his wheels. Come playoff time he will average 100 yards rushing per game. :joy:

Lamar would kill them. The Lions still struggle with keeping contain on QBs so with Lamar? Yikes

With that said, who’s going to stop the Lions offense? Baltimore’s defense has been getting torched by lesser offenses so long story short, take the over.

I do not want to face them because I just don’t know how we beat Lamar with our current injuries.

If you were to compare NFL QB runnings games to airplanes Lamar would be an F22….Goff on the other hand would probably be a yugo. The only way he’s flying is if he goes off the mackinaw bridge
