It’s a long season. But embarrassing 1st game. Hopefully the Tigers crush the Dodgers. Hopefully Skubal drills Ohtani with a 99 mph fastball ![]()
Haha this team stinks… Signing 40 year olds to pitch… Good luck.
Good news is I’m gonna get a ton of exercise this summer
It looks like Bichette is back.
Since 2021, the average lat strain absence for pitchers is 78 days, per the Baseball Prospectus Recovery Database. Even relatively minor lat strains can sideline a pitcher for months, not weeks.
Imminent danger is what Max said about pitching again before his fingernail gets solved, as thats why he strained his lat.
Yea I honestly think his career is over… Watching his body language in the dugout… He knows
Hell of a hitter when healthy… Always has been.
March 30: The Jays announced today that Scherzer is indeed being placed on the 15-day injured list, with the diagnosis of right thumb inflammation. Left-hander Easton Lucas was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
March 29: Future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer exited his first start as a member of the Blue Jays after just 45 pitches, and Toronto later announced that his departure was due to soreness in his right lat.
Thumb and not also lat?
Ok.
It’s a nerve issue. He was opening water bottles with his left hand in spring training and then trying to pitch with his right arm every 5th day. I’ll be shocked if he ever pitches again. Same issue last year that held him to only 40 innings. I was expecting the 60 day injured list so maybe there is a sliver of hope. But 16 million for 3 innings is rough.
Ask Jacob DeGrom, or John Wall, all time Pro Sports Thief. $160 million over 4 years for 40 games, all of which came in year 3.
Yea dude is cooked… An unreal talent but his career will be known as what could have been. On stuff alone, one of the best pitchers I have ever seen. Was just nasty.
DeGrom will be comeback player of the year…book it.
Also, he’s on my fantasy team.
Good luck Bols… Apparently he’s pitching today. 75 pitch limit though
In all honesty, I think Bichette will win the comeback player of the year. I really think he’s back all the way.
BTW, Bichette is on my fantasy team.
I don’t think it’s even really a comeback… Bo was .300 hitter through his 1st 5 seasons… He was injured most of last year and was terrible when he played. But 5 out of 6 seasons he was really good.
DeGrom completely shut down one of the better lineups.
Im encouraged
I watched his highlights… Still hitting 98mph with the fastball and that nasty slider around 91mph.
Crazy he still has the velocity after all the injuries.
Hopefully his arm doesn’t fall off before start number 2 lol
No worries @stephenboyd57 I have found Vlad’s replacement. He fits in with the physical requirements of a Blue Jay.
