Trade Back Deals

I was trying to think of some possibilities for us to trade back, and who might want to come up. Which deal do you guys prefer the most?

Option 1-Trade 28 to Cleveland (They come up for a QB) for 33 (First pick of day 2) and 104 (2nd pick of Day 3)
Option 2- Trade 28 and 130 (our 4th) to Kansas City (They want to jump the Bills for someone) for 31 and 95 (KC’s 3rd)
Option 3- Trade 28 to New Orleans (They come up for a QB) for 40, 93 (Late 3rd from Washington), and 131(4th rd pick from Washington, right after our 4th)

These all seem quite feasible to me. Personally, I think I like option #2, as it keeps us in the first round and we get that 5th year option on whoever we take, and it gives us another day 2 pick. I think there’s usually quite a drop-off from the end of the 3rd to end of the 4th round picks, so itd be nice to swap our 4th into a late 3rd.

I’d be all about this one. Then you could do another slight move back unless your hellbent on one player.

At which point Brad can either use the extra capital to move up for our guys or slide some capital into next year.

I’m not sure how many rookies this roster can even fit. 5? 6?

Yeah. I do think its probably more likely that Brad moves up than he does move back, but I am always a trade back guy. Brad has filled out this roster nicely and only has room for a few quality rookies. He doesn’t need to get 9 draft picks this year. I think we have room for 1 Edge, 1 DT, 1 S, 1 TE, 1 IOL, and 1 WR. That is 6, and you could argue for maybe a LB. I think he will try to get 5 of those drafted in the first 4 rounds somehow.

Seattle has 2 seconds. Hmmmmm

So does Chicago
39+ 72…. Maybe we can get their 5th for our 7th swap as well

The extra 5th is nice we can use that to move up from end of round 3.

Seattle

50+ 52 round 2
82,92 round 3

Could get 50,52 and then swap picks in round 3 move up the board a bit

I prefer Chicago deal.

Chicago could move up for Henderson and then draft Judkins and try to replicate our Detroit backfield… poor swift gets traded again lol

Trading back just to trade back makes no sense.

It only makes sense if…

  1. You feel the person you really want will be available at the pick you drop back to (Gibbs in 2023) so anything you get will be bonus.

  2. There are multiple players available that you grade equally and you are happy getting any one of them after trading back.

  3. There are no players you feel warrant being taken with that pick.

  4. The deal is too good to pass on.

I’d prefer option 2 depending who’s on the board… I like the 5th year option

If Hunter is gone by pick 4, I could see NE going BPA rather than reach for a WR. If that happens I could see them trading back up into the first for an Ebuka or Burden should they fall. Detroit gets 38 and 77, NE gets 28.

This would make a lot of sense for NE. Getting LT Campbell and then Egbuka would help the Pats a lot. If Zabel is gone I could see this as a good move on our part.

Far more likely we trade up than down IMO. This trade raises my hopes way too much. I can’t post in this.

It’s too late. Hopes raised. Great job OP.

I believe it is far more likely that we move out of 28 than stay there.

Whether we trade up or down will be determined by how the draft falls.

I see really good arguments to move in either direction on day one.

If we move up, I think we get 1 day one pick and 1 or 2 day two picks.

If we move back, I think we end up with 4 day two picks.

In this particular draft, I would think the 4 day two picks would have greater value. But Brad angles for Brad’s guys. Most accounts have this draft being deep with quality prospects. That makes me lean towards the trade down scenarios.

I think we will have 3-4 (maybe 5 if Brad works magic) rookies make the team and another few make the PS. Would make 5-8 total in the organization with UDFAs.

I want to knock severl players off the roster with this draft. Especially on defense. I want ps level guys on the ps and this defensive edge/tackle class should help accomplish this.

Guys that will be on the outside looking in of the 53 man roster after the draft:

Colby Sorsdal
Brodric Martin
Morice Norris or Loren Strickland
Antoine Green
Shane Zylstra

Why trade back when you can’t roster or protect all your draft picks?

You can do a trade back where you turn a day 3 pick into a day 2 pick and have more quality picks. It doesn’t have to necessarily mean more quantity.

Need a pass rusher and oline.

Don’t care how they do it.

His neck injury was career ending. He reverted back to us and is only on the roster for medical treatment. He will be gone by camp im sure.

Said the same thing last week…I think if Holmes loves a certain pass rusher or DT it’s gonna happen. He loves first round trading. We rarely keep our original picks…

We have so much talent already… Gonna be hard for 7 draft picks to make the 53…trade up makes sense. Sorry @CuriousHusker who would trade back on his death bed.
