Love this post, and this to me is exactly why football is my 2nd favorite sport. There are so many nuances to the game, and to me it’s like full combat chess. Everything you do has a counter, and a counter to the counter. I think the reason you have so many coaches and managers on a staff is just like what you mentioned, every person here has different things that they specialize in, and all of those things coming together is what makes for a good organization, and in our case a good board.
For the first time our lifetimes, the Lions DO have a good organization. They’ve got a good handle on the salary cap, they’ve got good personnel guys, and they have actual good ex football players coaching the players.
This place is great therapy…when you’re allowed to voice your opinions. No matter how outlandish and emotional they are. I don’t know shit compared to a lot on here, but I do watch a cubic shittonne of football and have for many years. I think we’re all in the same boat there. Obviously. This forum distracts me from my duties, which I’m ok with at these junctures of the season. This team is so close I can feel it in my testes. But I have to stop armchair GMing and let one of the leagues best do his thing. If he feels like there are too many flaws for my parade to push all the chips in then so be it. I don’t see it. But maybe he does. I feel like they are an edge rusher or two away from hoisting but maybe they see it differently.
