Trevis Gipson signed by the Lions?

I was told yesterday that the Lions was expected to sign Trevis Gipson. I was looking to see it hit the wire but haven’t seen it yet…… anyone hear anything on this?

I heard he wowed several coaches, looked pretty good and the Lions think he would be a good fit for the SLB/DE type they wanted from the draft. Could be a sleeper roster guy.

Oddly Wiki shows him still in Sea but I’m told he was cut by Sea and tried out for the Lions.

This is a super interesting…. (If true) This kid had 7 sacks in 9 games for CHI. Then 3 more the following year.

He then signed with TEN and had one sack. Then went to Jax and they traded him at final cuts to SEA.

He’s been bounced around between DE and LBer and it seems teams have struggled to figure how to use him because he’s a tweener.

I’m starting to wonder if something was a miss in the physical or background check.

I like his potential and he could resurrect his career here and really contribute like Biggs, and Cominsky did.

I would think resurrection is beyond Dan’s powers. But @Sofatso thinks Skip is a vampire so anything’s possible. :man_shrugging:

I’m not saying he sucks…but this is a nothing burger IMO. Z and Clowney make way more sense.

My same feeling. He is definitely a worthwhile dart throw for cheap. Problem is we need more of a surefire thing.

I have been very willing to give Brad a pass on a majority of the things he does as he has proven he deserves not to be doubted.

If they go into the season without adding a DE that can make some contributions, with a team this good, I believe Brad will regret that decision before the season is over.

The obvious move is resigning ZaDarius, really hoping that happens.
