Meh i am actually happy that Gores is willing to eat that much money… terrible owner that cant seem to do anything right. At least he is willing to eat his mistakes regardless of how much they cost him.

I have no problem with them letting him go.
It’s the hiring of a guy who clearly didn’t want the job, and who’s heart clearly wasn’t in it that bothers me.
At this point, blowing the entire thing up was the right move.

Gores is a private equity guy, he doesn’t sell anything until he has maximized its value and he can turn a profit.
So they made him the highest paid coach in the nba then fired him after 1 season. Lol well done Monty. Sit on the beach and collect 65 million. Must be nice.

Private equity investment guys are usually very impatient. They want to keep a company for 4 to 5 years and then flip it for profit. But perhaps Gores has emotional attachment to the Pistons? I have no idea.
