UDFA Thread

We need one that can do both.

Dontay Corleone blood clots must have been a major issue if he still isn’t signed yet.

Way too good of a football player to not be drafted, let alone signed as UDFA

Him and Fa’amoe really surprise me

Looking at where we took SGH all those late DTs everyone liked were still available.

Benny, Corleone, Robinson, VanDenBerg etc.

That’s exciting because Brad knows best

I’m really liking what I am reading about him as IDL pass rusher .

Him vs Wingo for playing time
Should be a fun battle

I didn’t think Corleone would go before him and Van Den Berg’s tape didn’t match the testing, but I think Benny and Robinson for sure might have gone first. They’re all in that same bucket, but for sure once we get late in the draft the FO knows 100X more than we do about these guys.

In particular. Footwork is kind of a mess but it’s NFL Guard traits at the very least.

Besides 50 Ponds, 51 Golday, and even Cisse 52 we knew we had a decision to make there

But I don’t really see too many guys each round after picked that I wanted.

If we had a 3rd Pregnon/Barham

4th Lee/Hecht great value there

5th we killed it

6th I like SGH now. I liked Perkins still obviously . Gulbin/Coogan again good value

We didn’t miss really much

7th I’m definitely taking Aidan Fischer or Max Llwellyn though.
VJ Payne… McGowan.

I counted about 244 players of the 256 drafted were combine invites. That would leave 12 players selected that did not get an invite. If you don’t get an invite there is a good chance your not getting drafted,

Sure, never denied that. But there was someone drafted in the 3rd who didn’t get an invite. So while the numbers overall are poor and probably skippable, you will miss on some mid-round targets by ignoring them altogether. It’s easy now anyway, you can just keep up with the guys getting hyped late in the process who didn’t go to the combine.

Just like Kaelon Black, the non-combine 3rd-rounder.

Or Wesley Williams, Elijah Sarratt, or Kaleb Proctor, who all went in the 4th.

Williams and Proctor got invites. I think Sarratt did too.

I know your big LB got drafted and didn’t get an invite.

I did not realize who Erick Hunter was until they just showed some hi-lites. He was the dude from the HBCU all star game. That dude can run and cover in pass defense. In the practices he caught more balls than the dudes he was covering.

You’re right, stupid AI. Well 5th rounders like Cyrus Allen, Kamara, and Seydou Traore. And yeah, Dugger

Yeah, he’s intriguing and the Lions must think so too with that downpayment. I could see a ST and a specialized 3rd down role on defense doing an Analzone imitation.

If we need somebody to cover a TE or RB out of the backfield I think Hunter can do it better than any other LB on our roster. I think for him to make the roster Rolder will have to show that he is ready to play right away. There is no way we can hide 2 LBs on the roster who are not ready to contribute. If Rolder can play then we can send one of the vets to the PS and hide Hunter on the roster until he gets his feet wet playing some special teams.

Fipp should try him out at KR.

I think that will be the job for Law. I just hope Hunter can make it on special teams. Just from what I have seen of him he seems more like a technician than a guy who just runs around with his hair on fire. The hair on fire guys are usually the better special team guys.

absolutely. And Salyers I presume. I don’t want to roster Salyers personally.

I really hope that we’re in on this.

Yeah, me too. I’ve been searching him and saw this recently. That said it’s not like he’s gonna come in and compete for minutes, it’s sorta surprising he’s taking this approach. Unless NO ONE’s showing any interest, but that would be a surprise.
