I committed the ultimate mistake. Yeah. I bet on a Lions game. I learned years, no, decades ago that you DO NOT BET ON A LIONS GAME. You don’t bet ON them or AGAINST them. But I threw all caution and common sense to the wind. AND IT COST ME. And the kicker is: I know better. Those damn trick plays are what screwed me. If the Rams hadn’t had those possessions taken away I’m quite sure they would have scored on at least one of them. Maybe even all 3. But I did pretty well anyway, just could have hit the big parlay. Sigh….
I got crushed every which way by the Rams not taking care of business against the Lions. I was absolutely counting my cash, and there would have been a lot of it. Ah, well, such is the life of a gambling degenerate.
I’ve been slowly rebuilding on low-hanging fruit like Atlanta Hawks -10.5 vs. the Pistons on Monday. Followed a tip and bet Kraken-Canadiens over 5.5 goals Tuesday and that paid as well.
I’ve got Red Wings-Capitals Over 6.5 goals tonight, which is a scary-high number but I think will work.
I’m back on Coastal Carolina Thursday, even though they laid a dud last week at App State. -18 at home vs. Troy. Troy ain’t App State.
The only thing that’s jumped out at me from the NFL this week so far is Browns-Steelers over 42. My guess is that one of the two teams by themselves will be over that number.
I don’t watch enough hockey. But I would bet the over unders once in awhile. I was hitting at like 20% of the time. That was short lived

Getting on topic might make 1st bet of the year on a game this weekend. I think bucs look best by a mile -5.5 at New Orleans. Like a lot of favorites to cover. Rams, chargers, bengals too.
Think Detroit is best dog of the week. I’d slightly hedge with a +160 money line and +3.5 bet.

I got Murray and Rogers over 1.5 passing TD each at +150 on a promo bet…lose, you get a free bet equal amount up to $25.
Couldn’t pull the trigger on both over 299.5 at +350. Probably regret that.

Took the Eagles and laid the points, because the amount of people believing the Lions are going to get their first win today is absolutely bizarre.
In the same way the Lions confounded expectations in the Rams game, they will confound them today the other way.

Not to be a Debbie downer… but, as much as I understand the interest and excitement generated by gambling, it does seem to compromise the integrity of the game. Just my thought…
And it’s not just the nfl, goes way back to the mob, before Pete rose, all that… but… does this change your perception on the integrity of the game as well as the legitimacy of the results?
I have picked all the Dogs on the ML this week. I think Buffalo and the Rams have the best shot and I am hoping Cincy and SF come through. I did a Yankee Round Robin so I am hoping all 4 win.

I’m a little giddy this week. I got stupid lucky. I turned $75 into over $1400. I picked every game winner plus a few parlay combinations.
Not bad for $5 and $10 bets. I’m on disability so this is like an extra months income. 
This coming weekend’s going to be a little more difficult. Hope my stupid luck continues.

Stuff you love this week.
This is of particular interest due to the stupid amount of promos going out this week. I killed it on the Chiefs game. Not so much on the Packers, but thankfully I only bet about 10% of the units because I wasn’t sure of the game conditions.
Games I like the Colts to cover, Seattle to cover, Arizona to cover
Lions related Player props I have been using those 50% profit boosts on a combo Monty TD and Lions ML. A couple built in with low yardage for Saint and/or Sam.
