Vikings declared S Harrison Smith, DL Ross Blacklock, OL Christian Darrisaw, OL Garrett Bradbury, and OLB Luiji Vilain inactive for Week 14 against the Lions.
Smith has been dealing with a neck injury and, according to Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell, the issue “flared up” earlier this week. He was upgraded from a DNP on Wednesday to consecutive limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. Sans Smith, Detroit’s matchup with Minnesota looks even juicier this week.
I just said this in the gameday thread, but I’ll say it again here: NASCAR package with Romeo and Houston on the edges and Hutch and Paschal inside. I wanna see it once.
I think he would have run roughshod over Bradbury anyway, that guy has no juice at the point of attack (he’s OK on the move). For sure he ought to do it against his backup.
Sounds like a slightly better version of our mash unit interior we had against the bills. People seem to forget that we trotted out two practice squad guards in that game
Harrison smith being out may actually help the Vikings. He doesn’t have the speed he used to have. Their center also isn’t that good. Missing darrisaw will hurt though.
Do they have a decent replacement!? I think they will miss his leadership in the back end, he gets them all lined up and still has 5 INT’s this season for an old man
If this hasn’t been mentioned we are missing our starting ROG, a starting safety and a starting DT too (Levi). It isn’t wise to play the injury game with these Lions.
