Vikings rookie CB Khyree Jackson killed in crash

PSA to everyone. Don’t drink and drive. You might have done it hundreds of times and always been lucky, but you are taking other people’s lives into your inebriated hands and can very easily destroy so many lives.

Judging from the reaction from the Vikings, Oregon and Alabama (including one of our own players) sounds like a really good guy that worked his butt off to get to the league. Sad.

Just awful! RIP…….:smiling_face_with_tear:

That is my impression as well. Always seemed like a sweet guy when I saw him interviewed. Just so incredibly unfair to overcome as much as he did and just as he was about to get to the mountain top it’s all gone.

Man this is hard to stomach. The guy worked so hard and was just about to grab the brass ring.
My daughter just lost one of her two best friends this week in a plane crash.
This stuff is so hard to take.

Sorry for your daughter’s loss.

This is so terrible for people who really worked hard mentally, physically, and of course took advantage of their genetic gifts they were given. So sad for him.

This is especially why it’s dangerous for people to be driving out at 03:00. Not because of you, but the other dumbasses on the road. Tragic.

And unnatural. :rage:

Why isn’t it mandated that new cars require you to blow into a breathalyzer and be under the legal limit for the engine to start?

And they should disable WiFi so all these ■■■■■ stop texting and driving

Prayers for all effected by this loss…

Terrible news. Hate to hear about things like this.

Heatbreaking.

Sending prayers to the family and friends of all three victims. Nobody ever deserves to have the results of their hard work absolutely stolen from them by some idiot like this.

And, coming from a college student at what a lot of people would consider a party school, just don’t be an idiot and get behind the wheel drunk. It’s not “weak” to call an uber. I think people need to lose that attitude yesterday. It’s not “tough” to drive drunk either…it’s just ■■■■■■■ stupid.

Thanks @CuriousHusker . Sorry to de-rail the thread a little, but I have to get this off my chest and you guys are great listeners.

Here’s a post of what happenned. My son-in-law is the coach mentioned in this article.

These people just watched their son hit a grand slam at a Cooperstown tournament. The Dad posted it to my son in law. The wife posted where they had lunch to my daughter. Whole family was flying back from Cooperstown to WV to Atlanta on Sunday, with the grandad as pilot…small plane.

They hit bad whether and went down in a remote area.

My daughter lost her soul mate friend, they loved and supported one another and each other’s kids were like their own. The oldest son, 12, was one of my grandsons best friends, and my son-in-law coached and actually loved him as his own since his own dad went through a rough time. Fantastic athlete. 4.3 in school. The Dad was a recovering alcoholic, but on the right track, clean for a year. They youngest son was quieter, good friends with my youngest grandson. My grandsons went over to their house - just down the street probably 4-5 times per week.

My daughter and son-in-law will be speaking at the family’s funeral on Friday. Five good people gone in an instant. So hard to imagine. My daughter and her family can hardly think straight right now, even a week afterwards. And I’m sure Jackson’s loss is at least as devastating to their family as what my daughter’s family is going through right now.

If you made it this far thanks for listening. I can’t stop thinking about it and how those poor people died. Just not fair.
