Vikings trade for Cam Robinson

Tru.

My hopes are that: 1) Brad’s preference is to make at least a Za’Darius Smith level move, have their eye on someone particular, and has exchanged notes w/the GM and been told that another loss this coming weekend cold well pave the way to a deal; 2) a great-glass-if-needed backup deal is in place if #1 doesn’t happen.

True… they will be “fine”.

But… why spend $9 million… or even $6 million (if Jags retain salary)…. for an average player that nobody else wanted….
when Sam Darnold is NOT going to win multiple playoff games (let alone a SB)???

That money could be saved to improve the team next year…
and try to help the development of JJ.

Because they think they can win. Thats the goal. As far as money goes it shouldn’t hurt them that bad

Started by one of three posters. It’ll be like a race for them to see who can post it first.

Think ownership made the move

Vikings owners always want the team to be competitive year in and year out

Weird trade imo from the vikings, cause hes not even a good OT

Hes servicable to below average

Not the point

Yes, we are. Because it’s clear evidence that deals CAN get done if there’s a willingness. Even when other teams know that you need a player. It’s not impossible to get a replacement.

Apparently while the team is no longer SOL the fan base is still very much SOF. Many analysts, sportscasters, and others are calling us the best team in the NFL. nfl.com ranked us as the #1 team in their power rankings. Belichek called our offense unstoppable. Basically nobody but lions fans are counting the team out and yet here on this board it’s doom and gloom. Seems pretty sad to me.

That doesn’t mean shit. Media knows no more then you or i or anyone else. Playoffs is different then regular season

You’re right. Only we as fans know better.

All I see is that to a certain cohort here, if you don’t agree with whatever Brad does in this regard, you are “panicking”, “having a meltdown”, “frickin chickens”, and now “SOL fans”.

Whatever, man.

Can’t we just have a different opinion without being labeled with whatever insults come to mind? Is it really that ridiculous to just say - I think they should make a trade or two and get some just halfway decent pass rushers in here?

Why does that deserve so much vituperation?

You’re absolutely right. We couch fans are as much in the know as the guys who have: played the game-coached the game (NFL level), spent years scouting, analyzing, and pouring over game film non stop. You are right.

I love different opinions. The constant griping, complaining, and doom and gloom is pathetic. When a supposed Lions fan actually says that another team is winning the north division that’s not a “different opinion” it’s sad.

I think theres just a misconception between the 2 groups.

I dont think anyone is opposed to a trade. Currently given our situation that these other GM’S are well aware of Im sure asking Price is looking something like this

Myles Garrett - 1st x3
Crosby - 1st x3
Hines-Allen - 1st x2
Hendrickson - 1st / 5th
Travon Walker - 1st / 5th
Landry - 2nd/5th
Za Smith - 2nd
Arden Key - 3rd

Supply and demand. I bet the entire meeting of management yesterday was in regards to actually this.

We can continue to work the phones and hope a team gets desperate but we have to stay patient and see how it unfolds.

Severly overpaying is not as option, bend but dont break.

Wow. Nice sarcasm. Might want to try harder.

I am aware of that kind of posting and certainly don’t agree with it. But your comments didn’t seem to me to be directed all that narrowly. Maybe I misread.

I do apologize then. I don’t want to seem to be against legit discussion, I learn alot on this board because I read different opinions all the time. I find it sad that as soon as we experience any kind of obstacle it’s “Brad doesn’t know what he’s doing”, “the Vikings are winning the division” blah blah blah. I’ve waited 45 years for a team to be proud of. I’ve lied to friends about being a lions fan. I’ve said things like “I’m not a fan of the team I’m a fan of Barry”. Now we have a team that others actually fear. We are respected and considered a top or even the top team and yet supposed fans are the ones griping
